I had that happen to me after I installed my gtx2860, the DV is on the emissions control fuse. I left the plug for the DV hanging unplugged which I *think* blew the fuse by arch or maybe by water getting in the plug. I put the stock DV back on the plug and zipped tied it out of the way and haven't had a problem since. I'm going to get the car on the dyno tues. Now in you case I'm not sure why the fuse blew...

I was gonna ask if we have one of those fuel cut off switch things. My friends cobra went sideways goofing around, and his speaker box slide around in the back and bumped some type of fuel cut-off switch. I wonder if we have dat.

The inertia fuel cut off switch was the first thing that I checked for, our cars don't have a manual switch but does have an electronic cut off that is reset by cycling the ignition.

So I should blanks off my loose plug or fashion some sort of way to keep it clean and safe from random contact at speed.. Also did it throw any code fr the DV when you had it NOT plugged in ?

No codes, I'm pretty sure the plug made contact with something. I just left the stock valve plugged in and secured it out of the way but you could certainly fashion a Sim plug or cap.

I have a new metaphor... Ever sat near the engines or at the very rear of an airplane? That awesome sound when you're taking off? That's what the 2JR is like. It's like having your own private jet. It even sounds the same as a jet slowing down when you're on cruise control going downhill and vice versa. Personally, I'm a fan. I will try what Joe suggests with the dynomat. I may even line the cowl with it.

Can you hear the symposer and exhaust or are they drowned out?

My symposer is long removed. And yes, I can hear this WELL over the MBRP. I too have heard RAAMmat is better, but Dynomat is more readily available.

Edit- I went to look at Ricks prices. I can wait a few days for shipping. :)

Right it sounds like a turbime lives behind my dash now. Im wamt find some kind of rubber mat or insulation to wrap around my intake pipe where it goes through the cowl where i cut it to almost lay flat. So it cover the gaps where i cut the hole in the cowl for the intake pipe to pass through so i can isolate my air filter and keep hot engine air from heat soaking in traffic. Any ideas guys ?

Just turn your a/c or vent on while in traffic ;-)

Id say maybe window weather stripping. Plyable and tough and comes in a million different shapes.

Thats the thing i noticed the vent blows warmer now lol. Thats half the reason i wanna re isolate that box area. I saw iats up to 130 in traffic today. And its 85 degrees out

How big did you cut the hole in the cowl, lol. My IAT goes up a little but noT much in traffic. Even at 80+ degrees outside, while the car is running, the highest I've seen on the IATs is 102. That was in stop n go with being between idle and 5 mph for 30mins. I had my a/c as well. The only thing that I've seen cause the IATs to go higher is when I pull into a gas station or anywhere and shut the car off for a few...when I crank it back up, the IATs will read high for a few while the pipe and cowl area cool down. I'm planning on wrapping the lower part of the pipe with thermal reflective tape in the future.

I see what your saying, but im looking for more of a heat barrier then sound barrier. I want to seal the cowl around the intake pipe with a flexible rubber matt or sheet so it keeps heat out but does not transfer any moise or vibration. How flexible is raamat?
