Prob just sand it first and not reason you couldn't paint it. I like dupicolor wheel paint. Drys hard and thick. Its tough and the heat doesn't hurt it either.

Joe do you think this intake will take paint ok? Id like to do an anodized red to go with my color scheme.
You are just going to have to be really careful when installing it. Very easy to scratch in the cowl area. If you haven't already, you should test fit it before painting so that you know how to orientate it after you paint it. Otherwise, a quality high temp primer, paint and clear should work fine.

I'm actually thinking I'll paint mine with the silver wheel paint. But it would actually be silly since I plan on heat wrapping it.

I installed my imtake today, god what a pain in the ass. Between the diy harness extension routing everything amd cutting the cowl it tool me like 3 hours (taking a break or 6). The silicone hose gave me head aches so intrashed it. I already had 3/4 pcv hose ready lol. I am happy though fit and finish wise and I'm super satisfied. Its a tight fir but the intake is perfectly engineered for the space it dwells in.

After drving the car home from work and to and from a local car meet. All i can say is this intake is loud, like not for the faint of heart loud. I almost sounds like a gran tourismo game in my car lol (i like it). As for gains, i feel a bit. The car seems to have a bit more pep all through the power band especially up top (probably atleast 10hp throughout the curve and peak it feels faster not just faster because its more loud.). Overall for the purchase price and time invested i would buy this intake again in a heartbeat.(Did i mention my car makes bad ass turbo noises now ?)

Wow did you need to tweak the tune or was that just before and after? How loud did it get at full WOT?

Intake is IN!!
OHMYGODILOVETHISTHING.
This has to have been one of the easiest installes Ive ever done, and I did it with a fresh tattoo from lastnight around my wrist lol. I actually looked for leftover pieces because I thought Id forgotten something. To Joe, thanks so much for taking the time to make something like this for our crowd. You have no idea how much something such as this is appreciated. ..ESPECIALLY since the Focus crowd doesnt have one ahahahaaa.

Question... Mine should be delivered today (Thanks to HaveBlue83). What happens with that (vacuum?) line that attaches to the intake?

I used one 90? 3/4" elbow for the larger tube, and a couple of hose clamps for my own piece of mind. Other than that, its like a puzzle for a 6 year old. The pieces are very simple to understand and they will only fit one way. My advice is to cut the cowl LAST so the fit is perfect.

What do you mean...more specific?
On our Cobb intake, the small line with the quick connect that slides onto the silver thing. Right across from the MAF. I'm vague because I don't know what that is.

Oh okay, Joe included a little silver adaptor and hose to adapt to the factory disconnect.
