So I just got my exhaust installed (did it myself), and the process was pretty smooth except I ran into an issue with the mid brace bolts.
I was able to take out 3 of them without much effort, and this "4th" one took about the same amount of effort to break loose.
Once all the nuts were broken, I figured, "smooth sailing" from here on. Then without putting extra force, I noticed this one nut was stuck. I kept unscrewing it and then realized, the whole bolt broke off from whatever it was attached to and now the bolt and nut were spinning together.
Since I was able to loosen off the other 3 nuts, I was able to swing the mid brace out of the way for the mid pipe to do my exhaust install, but unfortunately, I'm not sure what to do with this partially loose bolt/nut now.
I tried putting soaking it in WD40 for a bit, but there's not much I can do since I can't really grip onto the bolt in anyway. I even tried using a lock wrench to clamp onto the bolt, and use a box wrench to turn the nut. But because the bolt is round, it's really hard to get any grip on it.
I put everything back together and just left it as is with only 3 bolts secured. I'm not sure how much this will affect my drivability or handling. And whether I should just leave it and forget about it.
I have no idea what that bolt is supposed to be attached to or if it was supposed to be welded to the chassis. But it seems like I would have to take apart the floor in order to access it...
Any suggestions??
