Would it be dumb if I got just an exhaust but no other tunes but the exhaust ?
You would be fine, if you're not already tuned, I tie highly suggest a tune, even if it's a OTS from a good tuner like Stratified

The tsudo cat back will be roughly available in 3 weeks, I emailed them today asking...the video on YouTube sounds pretty damn good and for $380 shipped I believe is amazing, the single too actually looks good I may go that route
Awesome, make sure to make and post a video. People usually don't just buy things based on company vids. When I was buying the Cpe, their vids were pos, better to see customers vids, always.

How much power did you achieve on the dyno with 93oct?
I don't know the final number yet, but compared to my old Cobb stage 3 ots tune with the stock turbo I am up 52whp so far using vDyno. All my logs were done on the same road using 4th gear pull.

Once my tune is finalized I may be able to post some results. I plan on tuning for E30 once the 93 octane tune is finalized. The car feels superb right now, especially considering ambient temps have been in the high 90s since I installed the turbo.

I met a guy with the same turbo at the deadhook dyno meet a couple weeks ago and he scored 250hp and 270tq on 93oct. He also did an e30 tune but dont remember the results.

Nice, that was my minimum expectation for this turbo. I believe I am close to that number right now and may be slightly above it.

I'd love to get it to a real dyno but vDyno is the only baseline comparison I have so it seems a real dyno would be a waste of time/money for comparison sake.

I just listened to it again on my home theatre and during that medium acceleration , it sounded borderline subbie. Sounds so much more meater. Favorite sounding FiST, congrats dude!

Thanks, WeTheNorth. Meaty is a good way to describe it. My wife said she could hear the car coming from a mile away, lol. The low tone it has now really carries.

Do you get in cabin drone?
Drone is almost non-existent, imo. This is the first car I've put exhaust on and knew I wouldn't be able to live with drone so I have been very critical of it. It's totally livable, even at 80mph highway speeds. This is my wife's daily driver and she even approves.

The only time I notice it is on light load going up inclines at interstate cruising speeds, even then it is not unbearable at all. Other than that, sounds great.

The whole setup really sings inside the cabin and isn't overbearing. The bad thing is, I want to go driving right now. :)

I can attest that this cat back has zero drone when cruising. And this is due to a well-designed Helmholtz resonator which is designed to cancel out certain frequencies.

It works so well that it inspired me to fabricate a quarter wave resonator for my S2000, which had terrible deafening drone between 3000-4000 RPM. The quarter wave resonator is not as effective as the one on the CP-E cat back, probably because I only used 2" pipe, but it eliminated all drone from around 3300-4000. Still some slight drone between 3000-4000.

Check this out.

Before...notice the huge spike which caused my ears to ring:

And after...

I'll be making a DIY thread soon once I finish making a video. Would be a great addition for the MBRP, Injen, etc guys who want to eliminate drone.

I was stopping by this thread to post that my Cyborg mounting last weekend removed the stock turbo drone from my heavily modified 3" MBRP with Vibrant straight through resonator and mufflers. I would have dumped the droney rascal 6 months ago but wanted to get some Cyborg logs first. Mounted Cyborg, drone gone.

But if I had one of those cool frequency dB recording devices you show, I could have better understood stock drone, how to correct it, and compared to new very pleasing exhaust note. What instrument is that?

So I want a single tip exhaust, with no drone. I was originally looking at Injen, but obviously CP-e has my attention. I'd really love some burbles and backfires, but I just want a good sound. I'm not sure if I'll do this before or after my tune + FMIC. So anyone have any input? Is the CP-E worth the price hike over the Injen? Anyone who has the Injen want to chime in? I just want my car to sound as good as it drives.

EDIT: Ok so after looking I'm trying to decide between CP-E, Injen, & FSWerks. Anyone else have any more input ? I know I'll be happy with the CP-E, but its more expensive than the Injen, and way more expensive than the FSWerks. Just looking for some more discussion on whats better
