Eibach Lowerings springs & 205/45/17 or 215/40/17 tires

I have read some reports that the Mountune or Eibach (which look to be very close in terms of lowering and rates) do cause rubbing with P215/40 17 tires. The details are very limited, so it is hard to tell if it is due to wheel offset or other factors. I would really like to go with the Eibach or Mountune springs for my ST, but don't want to get done with the install to find out I have rubbing issues. Also, some reports of the amount of lowering with the springs seems to be all over the place. The listed lowering amount from Mountune and Eibach are about where I want the car to be, but actual installs are measuring much lower. Thinking my only solution is to go with adjustable spring perches in all 4 corners and adjust the height accordingly. Speaking of that, anyone know of a set of adjustable spring perches to work with factory struts (or any non-threaded struts)?

Spec'd Drops:

Mountune: 1.1" (Front) / 0.8" (Rear)

Eibach / Cobb: 0.8" (Front) / 0.7" (Rear)

I'm having Cobb's Sport Springs (i.e. rebranded Eibach's) installed on my 205/40-17x7 offset 42 wheels/tires this Saturday and will let you guys know if the drop is close to advertised spec...I don't know about Mountune's springs but in past experience with Eibach's they usually are very consistent with stated drop with little to no settling afterwards...

When considering going with a wider width or higher sidewall tire (205/45/17 or 215/40/17) wheel offset also needs to be carefully considered if you don't want rubbing to occur after lowering...With the Eibach's drop you shouldn't have any problems going with either size tire...Mountune's springs on the other hand may be questionable due to the lower front drop (1.1")...

I've found that this calculator below has always been very helpful when trying to get an idea how changing tire / wheel size will impact fitment after lowering....

Drop is as advertised. I to want to go 215/40 just dont have the balls without knowing.

One of the wheels im looking at are the ford focus rally wheels that are 49mm offset. Sold my Rados originally to get these a few months ago. But the weight is whats stopping me.

When I ordered my TDs from Chalon, he mentioned this setup was confirmed to not rub as well (with Eibach/H&R springs). Of course, as you start to go lower and wider you have a greater likelihood of rubbing.

I have 17x8 +48s on order and will be running them with 215/40s and Eibach springs. Ill report back.

Springs don't cause rubbing. If it doesn't rub at any point in your travel now, it won't rub with the car lower.

I'm replacing my stock tires this upcoming weekend and I've decided on the Kumho Ecsta LE sport 215/40 R17s on my 17x7.5 Motegi's with a 42mm offset. The Kumhos are priced good, okay tread rating and are the widest decent priced 215/40s that I can find.
