I have the first Cyborg installed, there is some lag but it can be tuned to the point it is not bad at all, strong boost is just a gear away.
I think with the 1.6 engine we are just going to have some lag but it can be minimized and gotten used to, I am fine with it as is, the only way to get rid of it is going back to a tiny stock turbo and living with it's issues, I love the cyborg compared to the stock one!
The 2860R may still be pretty laggy, I know the 286R and GTX are very much so, too much for a street car, even the 2554 is a bit more laggy than it would seem.
I and others put a bug in the ear of ATP to bring out something in the middle but have seen numbers posted, dyno plot, etc....on the 2560R yet but if going ATP I would be looking at that one exclusively.
For that kind of money I would just get the EFR6558 as simply a better turbo and then build my own parts to fit it. I was going to do that but got involved in the cyborg project and am getting more into it all the time, when done right it is plenty of power....though I am still interested in the EFR and still may do it in a couple of months or so for some winter fabrication fun
