I got my Ford Racing cat-back(Resonated) last week.
Very quiet for city daily drive and highway cruise.( under 3000RPM.) [loveboost]

Got a flowmaster muffler welded on my Catless CP-E/MBRP setup

Used the same tips which now stick out an inch more than before. Overall the raspiness/crackling is virtually eliminated, I honestly kind of miss that but I wanted it to be quieter overall. The tone is much lower than before but I'd like it to be even quieter. I guess a 3" catless turbo back is never going to be super stealthy though. Will post a vid when I get a chance!

I love my mbrp exhaust. It's not too loud to make the girlfriend upset or cops to notice me. Unless I'm on it then they do. But overall a good kit.

How is the drone at 3200 rpm? Maybe I will put my MBRP back on if I can get that drone under control.

The exhaust is pretty quiet, around town with the windows up it's barely louder than stock.
From the outside it's definitely louder than stock but it's a volume i'm comfortable coming home late at night and not pissing off the neighbours with.
One problem though is that there is some mild banging noise over certain bumps. I can't tell if it's hitting the torsion beam
I'm going to play around with the hangers/hose clamps so I can tweak the height a bit.

Thanks Justin, I loved the idle, it was just too loud and drony at 80 mph for me. If the Flowmaster cures that, I will try it again. My logs showed me no difference in performance between MBRP and stock exhaust with Cobb S3 tune, so I put stock back on for stealth and comfort.

But stock is harder to drive fast, not quite enough auditory feedback to "hear" shift points on track. I also baffled my symposer so could try reversing that for more audible feedback, but like music around town.

Never made it to track with MBRP but doubt that would be problematic with Flowmaster.

I'm sure this is a stupid question but I've tried researching it. Stock exhaust size is 2.17 is that the ID or OD?

Recently just purchased my ST and am looking at Cobb turbo back exhausts, a little expensive for my liking. Do i need to purchase both the down pipe and exhaust, or could i save some money and just buy one or other?

You only need one or the other if you only want the great sound then get the catback if you want more power and some sound get the Downpipe but you will need a tune to get the most out of a DP and the Catback wont need anything but a lil cleaning of the tips every now and then..

If and when you get the downpipe make sure you get the Cobb accessport to go with it . You will need some sorta of tunning. Their of the shelf maps will be fine but if you want more than that then you can get a e-tune or dyno tune . The Ap should be your first mod .

Over the weekend I got the exhaust done at Miami Muffler. 3 inch from the downpipe back with only a resonator, no muffler, and it's not that loud inside the car. It get's boomy when I get on it but if I'm just cruising around it's pretty tame. I'll get some video up soon.

I could've kept it if I wanted but I didn't. But the new exhaust was fabricated and then bolted on. They didn't just weld it all together like a lot of other muffler shops do. Mind you this shop does a lot of custom exhausts for high end customers and cars. They do great work plus they let me inspect it before and after they mounted it.

Get the Cobb Cat back. It is a wonderful exhaust, very well built, and sounds amazing with just the Catback! I had just the cat back for about 4 months, I just got a Dead hookmotorsports catless downpipe, and let me tell you! This car sounds AMAZING! DHM downpipe is UNBELIEVABLY amazing. It is a beautiful piece and WELL worth the money. I will upload a video of mine soon as I can get on here on my phone. Just for reference, ill post just the Cobb Catback and then with the DHM added to the catback.

That's good to know! I want to see that video. My Cobb catback will be here tomorrow according to the tracking. I just have to give a shout out to Modbargains for hooking me up :)
