Moral of the story?... Don't live in Cali, lol
Well in post #498 they say they can't sell it because they are BASED in California not because the buyer is located in California. Then why would you even put the item up for sale? The real funny part is K&N themselves are based in California.

They are just trying to get out of the pricing mistake.

Moral of the story: If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

As for giving them negative reviews over a price mistake? [thumbdown] Would you rather they lose 1000s of dollars? This is exactly what is wrong with the world today.

I am curious, what is wrong with the world today? Paying for an item and having an reasonable expectation that you will get what you paid for?

It wasn't free, it wasn't $4.99. It was $58 which isn't peanuts. I don't care if it was a pricing mistake or not, they made the mistake not us buying it.

It was advertised and people paid for it.

You aren't getting what you paid for? If you get your money back, 100% ? Then you got what you paid for - nothing. Right? Seems like fair and square to me.

Just like I said, an email and a refund.

I've seen this exact situation pay out a few times now. Acting out simply because they made a mistake and can't honor a ridiculous price is, quite frankly, ridiculous. It's not like those that ordered didn't know it was a mistake to start with. I'm sure a few probably would have ended up in the for-sale section anyways, and probably not at the ridiculous sale price.

^ Nailed it.

I'm going to take this as far as I can. It isn't right to advertise a product at a certain price, have me pay, and then tell me I can't have it. They're gunna have to bite the bullet. I am talking bad reviews and Amazon claims.

Not sure how far you can take it... From Amazon's Conditions of Use:

"With respect to items sold by Amazon, we cannot confirm the price of an item until you order. Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If the correct price of an item sold by Amazon is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. Other merchants may follow different policies in the event of a mispriced item."

Not sure what specific policy this merchant will follow, but that's Amazon's policy on pricing mistakes.

Clearly someone has never made a mistake.

They aren't obligated to give you a product at an advertised price-they're obligated to give you a product at the advertised price or give you your money back.

Please don't review the product poorly based on a bad purchasing experience. I hate that crap. That tells other potential buyers nothing about the actual product... And actually misrepresents that product.

Got my email. It's a no go. :(.

I saw this happen on a gm forum a while back. Someone had Gibson full exhausts listed at like $110. A couple guys ended up getting em, the rest got the SORRYBOUTIT email.

I got the same blab about it was a mistake, k&n won't honor the price, etc etc. I just told me to refund me. People make mistakes. It's not a big deal.

It would be different if it were a bait and switch, or they were doing it for publicity. But it's just some no name shop trying to make a living that made a mistake. I'm not entitled to some free service or a crazy discount because of it. I would've gladly taken it if they had sent it, but at the same time I knew when I clicked buy Id never see it hit my doorstep.

Oh well. Back to saving for the injen.

Oh well, wishful thinking. I'm curious as to why they want me to initiate the cancellation.
