Stock vs "Stock" 1/4 mile times.

I think drag4life723 and I have a dilema. We are both trying to set the best "stock" time but in two completly different ways (fitting that they are black and white cars). Both cars are 2015s. Mine is 2 months old, his is 2 weeks old. Both powertrains are stock from air box to exhaust tip. I ran a 14.83, he ran a 13.84. The times were set a week apart at tracks that are less than 100 miles apart. Both cars are full weight. He removed the spare tire, I left mine in.

Russ has a stock car. There are no modifications, he has taken advantage of traction and tuning only. I have not seen a time slip or video of a faster time for a stock Fiesta ST then 13.84.

I have a stock car. It is exactly how I picked it up from the dealership. I have not seen a time slip or video of a faster time for a completly untouched, full weight, non-tuned stock Fiesta ST then my 14.83. (there may be faster, but 14.88 is the best slip I have seen so far)

Both cars have a legitimate claim at fastest "stock" pass.

I think it's tough to call a car stock when it's tuned. To me, stock is how it rolled off the showroom floor.

Too be completely honest if your going to claim a stock record it should be completely stock, Tires, Tune, Weight, etc..... Drag tires kind of takes it out of the realm of Stock. Tires alone make these cars low 14sec cars then you go adding a custom tune for corn syrup and remove weight from car its a blurred line to call it stock. Both of your times are very impressive and are due full respect from the community, Tbh only one is really stock. Just my silly personal opinion.

I NEVER CLAIMED TO HAVE THE FASTEST "STOCK" PASS

Also would I be correct in saying this is the fastest FiST with no bolt ons and at full weight?
that's all I said so please stop before you quote someone for saying something he did not. I shook your hand at the track that day and said I think you have one of the fastest stock cars.

AGREE!

So how about this

Showroom Stock - NO aftermarket components and full weight.

Stock Powertrain - Factory engine, intake and exhaust. How fast can you make the factory setup go.

Everything else is modified

You're either stock or modified. Why are we trying to complicate that?

Sorry if the tone of this topic has been misunderstood. I am not trying to make claims for anyone. I am very impressed with what you have got out of the factory setup so far, and believe that you will take it even farther.

I was just pointing out the difference and starting a discussion.

Being that picky would being like telling another guy that he changed the brand of his tires its not show room stock. I listed what what my car is and whats done to it and you say I said I had the fasted stock car which I never said. to call your car what ever you want. If you think that you have the fastest showroom stock car out of the thousands made that's fine all I am doing is showing people what I can do with a tune and tires. That is it why you decided to call me out im am not sure. Community's don't need one person to make a list of rules for there car to fall into to sound better. I know what I do is for me and if people like it that's awesome. Ill be the first person to post or walk up to you and say congrats and push you to do better. The more people going fast the better it is for the whole community. These cars are brand new records will be broke every other day and there is nothing any of us will do anything about it.

No need on making it personal then!

Again, I was not trying to call you out. I apoligize that it came off that way.

I am not trying to start an argument.
I am not trying to set rules for others to follow.
I am not trying to create a record.

I just found the difference interesting and though I would bring it up. I was curious what others thought about it.

From an outside perspective it just seems like there's a competition between two people in which one doesn't know he's supposedly 'competing'. Kind of like racing the guy sitting next to you at the light without him having the slightest idea of what's going on. I do it to my gf all the time.

Nobody wins at internet racing. Most people on a forum may never actually meet (in person) more than a couple of people they've met online. Nothing actually stops a member from claiming a run that's not actually theirs or from not fully-disclosing the true setup of their vehicle. It's just the internet, so don't take it to heart.

There should be a thread to compile 1/4 mile times. If there's not there probably should be, the only problem with having one is having a moderator willing to keep it updated. As for rules there doesn't actually need to be any and there usually isn't-post your slip, track, and any mods done. Simple.

Ok that first sentence seems very confusing, personal, like a call out, like creating a record, and maybe some guidelines. But I think you just wanted to talk about it. Maybe next time do it in a post I started or in a post you started and let me know. don't just throw someones name out there and start talking about them not cool.

Thank you

Russ

I have met him in person and talked with him even took pictures of his car racing for him. Gave him a business card of mine shook his hand when his car beat mine pass after pass that day at the track. He can drive. not sure were all this came from.

Based on what I have seen Everhart has the fastest true stock car, Drag4life has the fastest tune/tire only car, And ATP has the fastest unlimited modified car! I don't think there is a class for me[dunno] I have a homemade intake, Self tuned, and 2JR DP on stock bald tires, Either way we are all in the same community we love FiST and want to go fast. Lets try not to step on anyone's toes. If you have valid slips/video then unless someone can furnish proof that your not the fastest then by all measure you should consider yourself the fastest in your class of build. I am sure that we have already seen the fastest cars in each class are all members on this forum. So there is no reason to argue just keep it fun and keep progressing our little cars.

Exactly!!! I remember when evos hit the seen. The signatures were like fastest stock car with T/B/E and pink floor mats. Lol Were all doing good and we should keep going. The only thing I care about is if SecertSquirl goes faster what he change? ok cool ill try that and back and forth. We learn from everyone around us.

I'm the fastest car out of my driveway. Anywhere else I'm pretty slow.

I already regret starting this topic. I was hoping to start a friendly discussion about what this car is capable of without bolt ons, but instead upset.....well everyone.

I met Russ (drag4life723) at the track and he recommend this site. I was very impressed with how he handled himself and he is the reason I joined this forum. I am in no way trying to start a competion, and based on his success so far, he will be my first call if I ever want a tune.

I am sorry my topic is an epic fail, I will now go sit in the corner.

Thanks and don't sit in the corner! Start a new topic over in the tuning section or here about what the stock car is capable of. Mathematically these cars all go 95-96mph stock max and that would be a 14.3-14.5 pass. I think Milan Dragway next year on a good day could get your 60ft down there for sure.
