I run the dead hook factory fit one with mine, it seems to keep up with temps right now, but I am also up north where it's cooling off now

Thanks man. I'm in an area of CA that sees sustained high ambient temperatures so I'm looking for feedback from CA/AZ/NV/TX members too. If I have to go bigger I might as well do it now.

Well, Sourskittle will tell you. Deadhook race intercooler :) I'll likely be going that route eventually.

Lol...can't get rid of factory crash bar. If I have to go CPE so be it...if that's not enough then I guess I'd be stuck with the plain Cyborg??

I think 2J racing has a decent sized one also. Might want to look at that one. I believe it uses the stock crash bar

I am fine with the plain Cyborg too - hate to get rid of the MTC because the testing on stock turbo has been excellent and second only to CPE/DHM FF as far as stock fitment goes. The crash bar will tip off to the wife I am modding the car substantially. Gotta keep it chill.

If I HAD to have a Factory fit intercooler my first choice would be CP-E delta core. and Whoosh motorsports has them $100 off right now with free shipping. so I'd check that out. and my next choice would be the DHM factory fit with a garrett core upgrade.

I'm running the Cyborg 39 and at the moment I'm running the Cobb FMIC and I live in hot ass Central Florida. The DHM race intercooler is your best bet, but most FMIC will be ok

The CP-E or Map coolers are what I like to see, if people can not afford or justify the DHM race cooler. That being said, meth injection is what I REALLY like to see, lol.
But people are running all types of coolers with hybrid turbos and getting good results still. The only issue I have is the issue your currently facing that In try to keep people from... Buy a stock style cooler now, and that's money spent, and it's A FACT that your going to want the DHM race cooler later. Which means spending more money AGAIN.
The DHM adds a tiny tiny bit of lag but it's super worth it and the crash bar is just great.

Nothing like doing it once, and never thinking about it again...

That being said.... No matter the cooler, even the stock cooler, cyborg39 is the better choice. The one and only single reason to ever buy the original cyborg is the money difference.... And essp right now, the money difference just really is incredibly worth it. The C39 spools faster, and makes more power everywhere vs the original cyborg, and that's regardless of intercooler ( as long as we are talking same cooler, different turbos ).

The Cobb and it is cousins (Mountune, MTC ) fit really really well and do ok for stock turbos, but not my personal fav on the hybrids.

Razorlab always liked the airtec so it's prob an ok choice as well.

I've always thought the levels fmic was way way way under sized and asked people to sell them before using the cyborg's of old, lol. But now Nik has a new version that may or may not be a great option ( with holding judgement ). $450-$500?

you should just keep on doing what you're doing. I wish I would have done something similar so I would have been more informed about the mod path that I took before I took it. I have SO MUCH wasted money in my car from buying then selling parts. at least now, you know exactly what you want, or close to it. so no reason to change what you are doing. not to mention most of the questions you ask are really good and informative. if someone wants you out of their thread they will let you know. Keep doing what you're doing and learning all you can so that when you get your car you are ready to go with feet(or tires) to hit the ground running.

100% and I was not aware that M-sport was waiting for a stealership. Thought you were just hanging on the forums etc. I also wish I had done made research or seen better data or an honest review on a Tuner,. Instead I made mistakes on many purchases that are just sitting in the shelf. Also I don't think anyone with a hybrid or a BT is a snob. I just didn't like the fact you were telling other to run their cars on edge while you did not own a smilialr car. No offense given.

I absolutely do not think "anyone" (let alone everyone) with a hybrid, or max power BT are snobs. [nono]

Maybe it is just me, but at times I do sense an attitude of superiority from some of the heavily modded, big power members on here.
But, they might deserve that feeling of superiority, and even be justified for having said attitude since they were the ones willing to spend the coin, push the boundaries of our power/drive trains to the ultimate limits of their designed strength, and deal with the carnage/consequences when those boundaries were/are exceeded. [thumb]

I was NOT telling alphanumeric to "run his car on the edge", just curious as to what he will be able to get out of it reliably, with a maximized tune on 93, that's ALL.
(Maximized meaning as far as it can go while STILL being reliable/safe. [wink])

The shoe fits; put it on me if you wish. I'm still very active here to help people and give advice since I have a bit of experience with this platform. In other words, I'm here for the communities sake.

Did you get a chance to look yet Hijinx?
Yes. That 1% chance came true lol. My car does not show everything ready. Most but not all. So, for my car, I'm wrong (not that it was the best candidate for anyway). Someone with a hybrid, on DHM or Strat tunes will be the best for comparison.

Do you recall if it was one monitor showing not ready or multiple?

I live in a OBD scanning area too, so I'm glad this conversation is happening. Look forward to hearing from more hybrid folks about their findings.
