Cyborg Upgraded Stock Turbocharger System

This picture is 100% to show you what the tool looks like. It is NOT to show you where TDC is. Ironically, the intake cam does have two different spots the tool will fit into.

This is what the cams look like at "11 o'clock. This is where you what them RIGHT BEFORE you install the pin into
The back of the engine that holds the crack at TDC. Personally.... I've set it to 11:59 O'clock and put the pin in, lol. But of course 12:01 O'clock is not gonna work :)

My version of "injector cleaner"

This is AFTER I torqued the crankshaft pulley bolt to 74Ft lbs, then 90 degrees, then 15 degrees. I marked it to ensure the damper did not rotate as I torqued the bolt. You can see how the mark is between the ribs on the crank angle sensor.

Just because... Made a TDC mark on the mega cap and the timing belt. Could make it a little faster next time I do something like this.

Clean intake port, and the spacer place with injector in it :)

Spacer plate before the intake goes on

Getting there

Ran out of time.... Gotta bolt the alternator down and get the belt on :)

Descriptions and explanations to come in edits as I get time for all pics

Here's a good router for getting your grille opened up.

Harbor freight on sale this weekend.

How do you go about cutting out the grille with a router? I'm still trying to decide how I'm going to cut mine out.

Do damn much work and special tools! I will just buy a low mileage junk yard engine if I pop mine:)

I highly respect all the work you are doing and the time it takes to post all the pics that you do, thanks!

Drill corner holes with a step drill. Get a router bit that is made for trimming. They have a bearing that prevents cutting into the side wall. Way faster than a disc grinder. Much cleaner look.

Per the schematic, does that right hand cam not need to be turned one notch further, clockwise?
You could be right, IDK. I'll double check everything tomorrow :)
You are right though.
I actually put the engine at TDC before removing the cam spockets and never took the tool off, but you could be right, good looking out.

I double checked it and I had it correct. I did add a little edit to help clarify. Thanx for trying to help though :)

No more random charge pipe tubes with silicone couplers or plugs.
Still have to drill them for 1/8 fittings.

With all this engine pulling and what not........Random thought. Has anyone noticed how this motor is similar in configuration to a k series honda and the offset way it sits in both a swapped Ek or EG? Im just speakin out loud is all.....

Now that SS has taken us down to the pistons and back out, we have a beautiful motor. Just does not look that way when you first pop the hood.

I'm hoping AT SOME POINT someone will need this info and can find it here.
I plan on posting tool cost and stuff too. I admit though... Between a project like that in the shop, doing turbos, having kids, AND working a job as a tech for 40 hours a week, I'm having a hard time staying awake to fill in the descriptions on these.

Perks to this setup over a Puma X37

Not to speak for the man, but my estimation is customizations. Sour ports and polishes the cast manifold, can weld up an external wastegate, will titanium wrap and heat blanket the turbo etc. He does all of this work himself, by hand. With the X37 it's just the bare turbo and no external wastegate option. From what I see on dyno charts, they make similar power.

So bare turbo x37 vs bare turbo cyborg, power and cost. Which wins.
