I have read about that as well in Moto IQ I think. Although if I remember correctly that was for NA engines. I think when it comes to forced induction you would want the bigger ports. But I can totally understand the feeling of just wanting your car back. But I am excited to see you making progress once again :)

In my research for porting the head, I found that motorcycle ( real ones, GSX-R's, R1's, CBR-RR's, ZX6R's ) were going as far as JB-welding the ports SMALLER, and re-porting them smooth to bring up velocity. Also read surface castings wasn't a game changer and I also plan to run fuel through the intake ports which made polishing the runners pointless too...

It all added up to "F-it, I'm tired of driving my Lexus everyday, I want my car back ".

Traction bar
Cold pipe
Passenger mount
DHM race cooler.

I'm not used to those types of mods building up dust around the house....

The turbine housing is the biggest restriction in the exhaust, enlarging the exhaust port doesn't do anything to improve that but it hurts velocity so big ports are a bad idea.

On the intake side it is a different story but we have two intake valves and TiVCT, we don't need any more (or bigger cams).

A stroker crank would be nice but that is the only hard part that would give a good power increase beside the turbo. The problem is the cost would be high and tuning would be some work.

Cyborg upgraded stock Turbocharger system

This fiesta will ""decimate all", if.... You put 4 or 10 $100's into it, and over spring parts "from Japan" Michigan"

This is what a really huge box from DHM looks like in the back of a Lexus, lol.

Cam tools cam in Sat evening.

Excellent Idea on butt port flossing the manifold areas you cannot get to with a die grinder:)

As in all things there is a point were the cost in time or funds rises exponentially, usually both, not always the returned expected as well. It is so easy to make more power than most can effectively use that some mods simply are not worth all the trouble but for those that want to explore the unknown regardless, go for it of course.

I can finally speak of the excellent quality on a first-hand bases !!

I really like the crash bar and how light it is.

I was going to paint it with silver wheel paint to match the car and look powder coated. But it looks so nice.... I can't cover it up !!

Nice! Are you going to cut the lower grill for more airflow to intercooler? I'm going to cut mine like 15pbfist..

Richard says, "Get you some of THAT".

Dusty, I'm not a body guy at all. I'm going to remove the honey comb stuff, but I likely won't be doing a front lip splitter simply because cost.

I do love how his car looks like that.

I was at the gas monkey garage a few weeks ago when I was in Dallas. They don't let you anywhere near the shop, but you can buy a $30 T-shirt...lol

Goddamn that intercooler is a monster. Glad to see her coming back together.
I wish she was coming back together, lol. She's actually just coming apart.
I decided to remove the front end ( since it had to come off for the cooler install ) so that I could reach the engine/head more easily. Then... I figured.... I may as well remove the front crash bar to give myself an even closer reach the the engine head. But... That's when I found the front end tries to fall off, lol. So I HAD to install the NEW crash bar before continuing to work on the car. Once the new crash bar was in, I found the intercooler mounting locations use some of the same ones as the crash bar. Figured I may as well do it once and that would be it. So the cooler got mounted as well.

But NOW, the process of breaking the engine down starts on Tuesday ( likely, if not Monday ).

I also jacked the rearend of the car up pretty high verse the front so the front end sort of tilts toward me. All in an effort to keep the effort and bending-over to a minimum.

Mistumoto cold pipe also has to be installed after I have the sound symposer tube welded up and replaced with either a meth port or boost reference port ( prob just going to do meth nozzle 1/8" fitting size since that can be used for either.

The ATP hot pipe also needs to be removed for the same treatment on the BOV tube thing they have.

TB front traction bar will also get installed.

And the TTS or what ever passenger side motor mount.

Lots to do. As always... Should be pic heavy :)

I know with C5/C6 Corvettes, it's fairly simple to just drop the whole drivetrain / subframe assembly as one. Did you explore this option at all? Wondering how hard it would be on this car or if it would just make things more complicated.

I did not look into that. That's typically reserved for guys with a lift :)
