Mr. Sour,

You sure you don't want me to tune that hog?

Cyborg, EWG, Full Bolt Ons, Stock Fuel System, No Meth, E40.

Hey Adam,

Any chance I'd see an improvement running E40 instead of E30 on my car? I just finished installing my Mishimoto Radiator, and coupled with the Oil cooler, I'm gonna be tracking the piss out of it this spring and summer.

Cyborg upgraded stock Turbocharger system

Ok... Time to let this cat out the bag :D

This is mine :)

I'm waiting on a special tool that lines the cams up to the timing belt gears since it doesn't have a key-way or groove or timing marks !!!

Exciting stuffs

What is the benefit of the Garrett IC core? Are you going to weld it yourself?
I'm going to let Russ handle any questions about the garrett vs non-garrett stuff. I just knew I didn't want anymore excuses for me.

I also figured, no freaking way I'd ever find myself in a spot where I could afford the DHM big intercooler kit again, so doing it once and never second guessing it again was the only way forward for me. I also recommend that others think about that before buy ANY DIRECT FIT. You could spend $400-$700 and in the end, end up buying a 2nd intercooler for slightly more money AGAIN. Don't something I could afford to do twice. Weather the garrett means a lot TO US or not, IDK. But on higher hp cars, it def matters, and by nature, the cyborg is hard on a cooler. I wanted max cooling ( frontal area ) and great flow.

I've def having russ do the fab work/welding :)

Also just got word Mistu shipped my cold pipe 6 weeks ahead of schedule, so that was a nice surprise.

Once the cylinder head is check/decked flat, I'll be ready to roll.

To echo Sour, I'm on my third cooler (Russ') and $1700 spent. But, we didn't have the options we do now... At this point in the game, you can do everything right the first time without having to experiment.

OOOOO!!! I can't wait to get mine!!

Congrats on the purchase and I'm sure you will see a little difference. you gonna drill out your grill as well? I will do that the same time I install mine. even thought about opening the front bumper up a little too, but we will see how it performs with open grill and no bumper cuts first.

Just melt the crap out of it with a sander or angle grinder and flap disk. Once you get the hang of it, the work is fast. Just takes some fortitude to get over the appearance in the beginning of the plastic melting. Whatever you haven't ground will be a different composition allowing you to easily separate the melted slag and the intact grill underneath. It will likely still take some razor blade work of you are a perfectionist like me.

Also, I did some WOT pulls this morning at 60 degrees. At vacuum the charge temps sat around 2-3 degrees above ambient. Extended WOT would sit at ambient, and upon return to vacuum (off the gas completely) my temps would briefly drop below ambient. Perhaps a condenser effect like with an A/C? Regardless, I don't think you can cook this IC. I'm more worried about the garbage oil and water cooling in the vehicle.

I finally installed the WRC vents. Two things I've noticed right away: 1 - driving hard through the mountains around here I couldn't get below 20 degrees over ambient, now I'm within 10. 2 - the coast down is a lot slower (I roll further in neutral).

Longer coastdown = improved aero. Surprise to me. Maybe filling those low pressure areas on top with hood vents reduces turbulence along sides of car? When I ran pressure tests on underside of hood, not one was positive. But the overall engine compartment tends to show air pressures drop about -.3" going from underside of hood to underside of chassis.

So your engine compartment should now show more even pressures from underside of hood down to bottom of chassis if theory applies.
