So... Cobb FINALLY re-released accesstuner software so I was finally able to custom tune my own Fiesta again....

Only took cobb almost a year... [nono]

Anyway... Fiesta feels great. Good power for the level of mods, which is nothing except for the tune and E40 mix. Keeping it this way until I give the car back at end of term.

2016 Fiesta ST
E40 fuel mix
Custom accesstuner tune by me
Zero other mods.

For those that saw my prior post of 200whp on Cobb OTS 1, I think those numbers may have been inflated. The only conclusion I can draw is the tires, I bought a set of General GMAX all season tires which I believed to be the same size, but after seeing lower numbers when I switched back to the stock summer tires the only variable was the tires. Anyways, here is an updated post which is probably more accurate:

*All of these were on the same stretch of road and same mods/tires, full tank of gas*
MODS:
CP-E Intake
CP-E Intercooler
MBRP Hotside Charge Pipe
93 Octane

RED: Cobb OTS S1; 188WHP, 233WTQ
BLUE: Cobb OTS S2; 191WHP, 239WTQ
GREEN: Stratified Flash Tune (1st revision); 200WHP, 250WTQ

I've had a stratified 93 tune for several months, but never used virtual dyno. I recently purchased a lot of parts and custom tune from tune+, so I decided to test my current configuration to use as a baseline for comparison after I get the new parts and tune installed.

Stratified 93 tune
Mods = Cobb intake
Temp = 85 degrees
Driver weight = 160

Hope to get a test in cooler temps before I upgrade the car, but here's what it did in 85 degrees. Charge temp peaked at 111.4, and boost peaked at 25.46.

I Know this says virtual but we had a free dyno at my shop yesterday and I had 2 pulls done. The first was 176HP and 212torque. The second dropped due to what they called heat soak down to 167hp and 207 torque. My fiesta is bone stock with the exception of a blow off valve(which adds no HP lol). Just incase anyone was wondering what a stock st would pull.

I fully admit I didn't read every page of the thread, but why does everyone use the Dynojet profile instead of the VDyno profile?

Of note, 15, Colder plugs, Mishimoto inlet hose, no resonator, Whoosh j-pipe and Canadian Chevron 94 fuel and Stratified 93 4.0 tune

Car has previously been on a dyno at JST performance and on Dizzy V2 93 octane tune made 200whp/280tq

For me, I'd feel more comfortable if the AFR was below 12.
I actually brought this up with Dizzy. My 93 tune hits 11.76 AFR target and E30 hits 12.2 AFR target. He said his target AFR for E30 tune is 12.2, it has to do with E30 having stoich ratio of 13:1 vs. gasoline stoich of 14.7:1. Since the car can't read ethanol content I guess the 12.2 target is really about a 11.8 AFR converted. I also know that Brian@JST targets 12.2 for his E30 tunes, so I'm pretty comfortable with the AFRs.

I suppose all tuners have their comfort level. On E30 the tuner I use stopped the revisions when the AFRs were around 11.7X ish.

I don’t have a laptop, but vdyno on Cobb AP3 peaked me at

220 hp and 281 tq, 21.78 psi, 41* amb and 69* charge.

Drop in filter and a OTS 1 93 oct v504. I’m supposing the cold air had a bit to do with it.

When tuning for something like E30 you set the Fuel Scalar Stoich point table for E30 (which is a lambda of 0.885 or 12.96 AFR) in the tune, then in your power demand fueling table you just set your AFR like normal and it scales fueling for E30 by itself.

Personally 12.2 is a bit lean for my liking but everyone has their own methods and preferences and the FiST can run it perfectly fine (FiST stock tune runs 12.7 at WOT). I tend to run on the richer side as the Ecoboost engines don't really gain or lose power when running a leaner vs richer mixture and I prefer the added cooling of a richer mixture.

You can see below how the fueling is setup for an ethanol mixture and how the power demand fueling is setup as well, although note this is a FoST tune (all I had with me atm), but it's all setup the same on the FiST.

I ran 5 pulls late this morning. Here are the results. These were run in third gear starting around 2500. It seems like starting a little earlier in the revs would yield a higher torque number. I haven't measured the actual tire diameter/height I just got if off the Continental website.

My mods are below.

I need to rerun these, I measured the circumference of my tires and they are a little less than I thought.
