I realize that this is not new news at all (I found articles on the R2 rally parts going back to 2010), but damn, this is just straight up car porn.

They get the standard fiesta engine to put out 168bhp (with upgraded EVERYTHING it looks like). My favorite part though, is the amazing coilovers. The intake "box" looks similar to what Rick did with his filter :)

I contacted them awhile back inquiring about the airbox. They where quick in their response but after I replied to them... crickets.

The real cool one is the Fiesta R5:

The R2 is a bad ass, no doubt about it. I spent a good deal of time around a R2 when I crewed for Lucy Block at LSPR last year. At the end of the 2013 season, Team O'Neil started on a ST-R2. The car debuted at the Sno*Drift (actually was still in stock form and just off the dealer lot at LSPR) and picked up the 2WD National Championship for 2014. The car uses the R2 FIA cage, dampers, brakes, safety equipment, a slightly different sequential gearbox, a number of parts from Mountune including a tune by Randy, and upgraded cooling from Mishimoto. Expect the ST-R2's to be the dominate car in the Rally America 2WD class.

Last year I also got a ride in Verena's R1, which is basically a stock Fiesta with all the safety stuff installed. Pretty much the scariest ride I have ever had with so little horsepower. Amazing how fast she managed to muscle that car through the woods.

I talked to Tim today about the R2 wing, which is around $1500, and we came to the conclusion I really do not need it, their primary need for it is to keep the car more level when jumping so not face planting.

We talked about my car quite a bit as he was quite interested and asked me to send pics, which I will do tonight or in the AM. We also talked about the sequential box and axles, around $24k, ouch!!!!

If it was $2.4k I would probably get it.

It was an honor to have him call me after I left a message last Friday, a great builder, racer, teacher, and just a very nice guy.

Rick
