Good post Razor !! The stock car on made 90hp at redline (7,000rpm). And pumaspeeds made 140hp at 7,000rpms. No telling what we may make at 7,000rpms bet beating the stock car 70hp will not be an issue. Good call !!!
? I think you might be reading the wrong graph or reading the graph wrong? The graph I posted above shows 210 bhp @ 7,000 rpm and with the turbo upgrade, it's showing 260bhp at 7,000rpm.

I think you might be reading the torque plots with the horsepower axis. ;)

Well after reading one too many threads over at .org about what damn shift knob to buy, finally bit the bullet and signed up here. Excited to see the results of this vs a big turbo setup. Sour, are you the one modding these??
Welcome over here

Your prob right. I rushed threw it. I'd look again later :)

And man.... 250whp hold power later in the band, it would be so epic in this little 2600# beast.
i would gladly trade you 35 tqs at 3000 today for 45 tqs tomorrow at 5500 lol said in my best wimpy from popeye voice

I made 250 WHP and ft lbs in my 1zz matrix in 2002, it was heavier than my ST is going to be and far less developed and it was very fast on autocrosses and mountain runs but a bit shy on open roads, etc so would not be as fast as I wished on some road race tracks. My goal for the ST was 275 WHP and a good torque curve but with how well the car is being setup I would be OK with a bit less but more just sounds so fun:)

Absolutely!
I have kicked arse on track in numerous well setup cars against big bucks, big power cars only to fall back or get passed on the long straight, finally catch and pass again then have slower lap times, a bit frustrating to say the least.

Finding the right balance in this car, incredibly quick in the corners done right for the best exit speed and just enough power to hold off the big guns on the straights, or at least most of them, would be fun indeed:)

Agreed I watched a lil Miata with a very good old guy driving just walk away from me and keep the Vetts and GTR in sight during the lapping day this month at Road America only to find out it has a Flyi'n Miata Tubo Upgrade and boy did he do well and just pulled it in the long straights as well as being Miata like fast in the curves.. It was then my plan for the car came into full focus and I decided to give up down low for some bigger legs on the top end as mine sits it about dies after 5000 rpm. so if the bigger turbo takes away low and gives to the top end I am ok with that as I am leaning towards High Speed autoX or standing start flying finish if you like to call it that on the local tracks give up on parking lot cone killing as I don't feel the FiST is classed fairly anyway for that .. But time will tell can always go back to stock if the Bigger turbo isn't my cup of tea.. LOL

Indeed.

Like these jack asses that decided to line up in the front straight and have a roll race after holding me up a whole lap. This was back when my Evo 8 was only 340whp. I sure could have used an extra 60whp right about then even though I got them back shortly after that straight. ;)

Great fun, thanks for posting it:)

Reminds me of a West track day at MMP in my Scion tc, a very sorted car but down on power due to a blown engine on a bad tune, swapped another engine and went back to stock TRD turbo SC tune.....Guy in Turbo Porsche had no clue of the line or how to do anything but drag race on the straights. I would pull off and then catch him in less than two laps.....he ignored the flags, was warned twice, I complained, back doing the same crap.

I cannot say whether I had permission or not but I did not get in trouble when he complained afterwards but was told to either follow the track rules or do not come back....;)

I set him up coming out of a corner where I looked like I was going to rear end him and at the last second dodged left when he went right and nearly all 4 off the track then blew by him and gave him a thumbs up..just two laps later I passed him again, he got out of the way when shown the passing flag, finally.

I have had to ask many times to not be put into the 1st run group when I showed up at events I was know known at, when I showed them my lap times I would get bumped up, sometimes after I had to run the 1st group with an instructor....first time with the Porsche club in my Forester XT that happened, instructor bumped me up then kept asking to go for a ride each section as could not get over how fast I was($30k in mods in stock looking car that was quiet, comfortable and got 28MPG:)

At the end of the event I went up to a group of instructors to ask a question, then they asked what I was driving and I pointed to the FXT and they said that was what they were all talking about, how fast it was.....they also said to come back anytime, they loved it....then one said that I eventually I had to drive a Porsche and I said I would just have to drive in reverse then, a couple got it and great laughter ensued. (Subaru was licensed by Porsche for the engine design and then stuck it out past the axle line, just in the front instead of the rear)

Wow, got a bit off topic but I thought it might be fun to mention here. Can you imagine the surprise I have in store for a ton of cars I run into out on track!

I really hope this modded turbo works well, if so I can start having fun, very very soon:)

I know Raam I was wishing for a bigger top end at Road America so I could real in that Mustang on the long straights .. easy to catch up in the corners but he had the top end to get away.. Looking forward to you breaking in what stock parts are left on your car .. oh wait that be the seats and windows if i recall .. LOL

I lacked power on MMP when the outer loop or full course was open, front straight does not have a high entrance speed but is 7/8 mile long!

I would hit 122 on the short straights and half way down the main only 128 in my Forester brick and detuned when I last ran it. I had time to think about going much faster but at the cost of Subaru power, trimmer body work, some aero, etc....it would of been another $30k into the project and who would build a $90k Forester, $60k was nuts enough!

I know I need all the top end I can get with a good bottom end but most importantly a great midrange, I will not give up to much low end to get the top end I would love to have as this car has many purposes to fulfill.
