Great fun, thanks for posting it
Reminds me of a West track day at MMP in my Scion tc, a very sorted car but down on power due to a blown engine on a bad tune, swapped another engine and went back to stock TRD turbo SC tune.....Guy in Turbo Porsche had no clue of the line or how to do anything but drag race on the straights. I would pull off and then catch him in less than two laps.....he ignored the flags, was warned twice, I complained, back doing the same crap.
I cannot say whether I had permission or not but I did not get in trouble when he complained afterwards but was told to either follow the track rules or do not come back....
I set him up coming out of a corner where I looked like I was going to rear end him and at the last second dodged left when he went right and nearly all 4 off the track then blew by him and gave him a thumbs up..just two laps later I passed him again, he got out of the way when shown the passing flag, finally.
I have had to ask many times to not be put into the 1st run group when I showed up at events I was know known at, when I showed them my lap times I would get bumped up, sometimes after I had to run the 1st group with an instructor....first time with the Porsche club in my Forester XT that happened, instructor bumped me up then kept asking to go for a ride each section as could not get over how fast I was($30k in mods in stock looking car that was quiet, comfortable and got 28MPG
At the end of the event I went up to a group of instructors to ask a question, then they asked what I was driving and I pointed to the FXT and they said that was what they were all talking about, how fast it was.....they also said to come back anytime, they loved it....then one said that I eventually I had to drive a Porsche and I said I would just have to drive in reverse then, a couple got it and great laughter ensued. (Subaru was licensed by Porsche for the engine design and then stuck it out past the axle line, just in the front instead of the rear)
