Lots of the knowledgeable members have migrated here. Good to see you here too.
Thanks man, I've been lurking for a little bit now, seems like much more of a knowledge-based board vs "this is my first performance car how do I shift smooth" board lol.

Totally off topic.. is there a 1/4mi time thread on this site yet?

Very soon. Dyno pulls have to be made. Rick's full bolt-on car , as well as mine.

The idea i have is to show VERY "real world" repeatable results with my car. Being that I am on a budget and can't throw everything all at the car at once (because I can't afford it ), I want to show what the turbo will do for the average person on a budget that buys parts as they can afford them. So my car will be dyno'd like it is. If you don't have a TBE and a access port, then you should prob buy those as you can before buying a upgraded turbo. I will also use the cobb OTS stg3 tune un-modified. Because I want to show real world "bolt-on" and go results. After that dyno, I will have an E-tune done and dyno again.

Ricks car will hopefully show us the full potential of the turbo as an "end-game" for guys like me. It could make 240whp, it could make 300whp. I can tell you, in other applications this wheel has made 300whp. But... Not On in these housings and not on this motor, so that's why math and science only takes us so far before a car like Rick's has to be built to see :)

I do want to say that this stuff was not just pulled out of a hat. We have done other turbos JUST LIKE THIS, with sometimes, way better results than expected or that the math would suggest.

A quick plug, lol, if any of you guys have F-150 ecoboost trucks, we also do those turbos with awesome results. But Lets not get into that here ;)
If you guys need to do anymore testing on an E85 car with access tuner race I will purchase the turbo and report back the results.

I enjoyed the other sites but found I liked this one better, I still check them out for something interesting but most of that is here so I mostly post here now.

----------

I agree, enough data on stock to different level tunes available to get a good idea of what the gains are when mine is done and a get it on a dyno. Also the math required to correct for living at 5,200 ft is easy to work out.

I do need to find a dyno to use that is the most accurate and reasonable cost, I will not get it tuned there, just results from road/e-tune.

PS shows 270WHP with a smaller compressor wheel and I do not think they have a very well ported manifold and not sure if the exhaust is a true 3" all the way past the DP.....so I am hoping for a bit more than they made and it could be a fair amount.

Also one thing I wanted done but the parts were not yet available is the complete new inlet, bored out and replace the inlet with a 3" tapered down to the face of the compressor wheel which I have been told could make another 7-8 HP and cost around $150. Once the parts are available I might send the compressor housing in for this additional mod.

As SS mentioned the turbine has a conservative clip, there may be a bit more there without inducing major lag issues but when you add that cost the whole package starts getting up there in cost but then again, can keep the stock manifold(ported), it will all bolt on with the exception of inlet elbow but that is not going to get an expensive mod, still look pretty stock.....we might end up with all the power the car really needs and have a great powerband.

Of course some want big power which is fine by me but I prefer as wide a power band as I can have for real world driving and a well sorted out car with very good power to weight is generally faster in most ways over a more stock car with more power, at least for my uses it will be.

Fun stuff, glad I get to share all this with my fellow enthusiasts:)

I have to figure out the best way to go for a tune, fuel, etc....91 octane here and most places on the West Coast...I will be in many places that have higher octane but I do not want to bother with keeping track, switching tunes, etc as will be moving around to different locations to much and do not want to run race fuel or M/W injection. All of that would be a pain in the arse to deal with due to traveling around so much.

So, I will most likely just run a 91 tune and live with it, when 93 is the fuel available just run it which should be fine of course.

E85, etc.....not likely going to even bother due to the above as well.

My results will be below what others will be able to achieve.

considering how many new vehicles are FlexFuel capable I am very disappointed in the lack of E85 supplying stations, atleast here in FL it sucks there are only a few stations and they are all a long ways apart and never near a track. A good E30-E50 tune with this upgrade turbo will be very impressive and a lot safer for the motor.

Have you tried these resources?

Just an FYI, that PumaSpeed stage 3 ST270 with upgraded OEM turbo is not WHP. It's 262 @ the engine. 226 at the wheels.

Either way, you can see the big difference in the top end over the standard turbo, whatever the numbers are:

Good post Razor !! The stock car on made 90hp at redline (7,000rpm). And pumaspeeds made 140hp at 7,000rpms. No telling what we may make at 7,000rpms bet beating the stock car 70hp will not be an issue. Good call !!!
