I don't have any strange sounds at all from removing the resonator, in fact, with the radio on or the windows down, I can tell zero difference with the pipe installed. When I looked inside the factory pipe, I did see that the section where the resonator is installed, there is a small lip that reduces the ID. So, by replacing the tube, I removed a spot for turbulence and a reduction in cross sectional area. It surely doesn't hurt to install the pipe, but don't expect anything mind blowing when you are done. It was an inexpensive modification that was easy to do, so that is always good.
