Thats exactly what Im hoping for. On a different note I have been driving my del sol around for a couple weeks because of salt on the roads. I drove the Fiesta today and I felt like I was driving a bus!! It makes me want to lower the seat as well as the car!!
haha I know what you mean. Going from the Subaru to the Fiesta, the big ol steering wheel and high seating position takes some getting used to again.

Date: December 6, 2014

Mileage: 3,355

Mods:
- COBB Exhaust Hangers
- COBB Cat Back Exhaust

Decided to take advantage of the savings COBB was offering and pick up this exhaust. I really don't have enough good things to say about this piece. The materials, welds, fit, finish and overall quality are top notch! I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and that definitely holds true with this setup. I researched all of the other available options and I didn't want to go there with slip joints, bolt on tips, small diameter piping, inferior materials etc etc...

The install should've been super straight forward, but both the nuts on the DP studs were completely seized. We were able to get one of the nuts off, but the other one snapped. After a few headaches we removed both pressed in DP studs and used bolts. Oddly enough COBB included extra hardware to use from the DP to Catback connection. I don't know if this is a known issue, or if the extra hardware was there to be used with their DP. In any case, everything was very easy once the studs were out. Fitment is PERFECT!

The sounds this car makes are now incredible. On the 20 minute test drive I couldn't stop grinning. 2nd gear 3/4 throttle from low RPMs is a complete riot. The tone, snap, crackle and pop all add to the fun. ZERO drone, ZERO annoyingness, all around couldn't be happier. Literally the perfect exhaust for our cars IMO.

The hangers work great and eliminate the majority of the unwanted movement in the exhaust. The stockers are a complete joke and it shouldn't be a question of whether or not to upgrade them.

So cobb have you extra hardware to replace the ones that broke?

This is my only concern with buying a downpipe and exhaust. I've heard it isn't the easiest to remove and I doNY want to have to go out and new bolts or anything.

Yeah, the exhaust came with 3 gaskets, 6 bolts and 6 nuts. The catback only has 2 connections, so I had everything I needed to get rid of the pressed in studs on the DP and use bolts/nuts.

You do have to either cut the stock exhaust or remove the rear subframe to get it out. I just went ahead and cut it, per COBB's instructions.

Nice exhaust! Just curious... did you soak the stock studs/nuts with penetrating oil before trying to remove the nuts?

Oh yeah, we sprayed em down good. I should take a photo of the nut that did come off. It was really seized on there.

Yeah, one of the incentives for me to swap out the downpipe for a COBB DP early was to apply nickel anti-seize on the fastening hardware to help prevent issues in the future. I soaked the stock bolts/nuts for the swap overnight with WD-40 Specialist and didn't have a problem with removing any of the hardware. Not sure if the lube helped, but I was going to take anything I could get to prevent something breaking or stripping. The nuts for the DP to catback were on pretty tight though.

Anit-Seize is always a good idea on any exhaust related hardware. It was definitely a bit frustrating fighting with those studs, but glad everything is situated and leak free [wiggle]

Awesome build thread! I couldn't help but look through this and realize your car looks identical to mine. Haha. The white badges right down to the yellow fog light covers. Keep up the killer work!

Added a few things over the last few weeks...

Mods:
- 12/13/14 - Active Shift Designs Accelerator Pedal Lift Spacer - 3557 Miles
- 12/20/14 - Nokya Hyper Yellow 2500k H1 High Beam Bulbs - 3866 Miles
- 12/21/14 - Boomba Racing Wing Risers - Black - 3875 Miles

When I first got this car I immediately noticed the placement of the accelerator pedal was a bit wonky making heel-toe shifting rather difficult. When Active Shift Designs released their spacer I knew it would be something I would go with eventually. Overall, it's a great piece. Not perfect, but definitely better then stock. The 3D printed construction seems solid enough, but is not perfectly smooth which can be expected. As others have said, it could be slightly thinner. Under hard braking it is spaced a bit too high. Still pleased and would still recommend it to my friends.

The Nokya High Beam Bulbs add a nice yellow reflection to the headlight bowl and output a solid yellow hue which I enjoy.

These Boomba Wing Risers were very well thought out! Excellent fitment and great instructions provided. I did have a buddy help me out with this install as this one would be difficult solo. Very complete kit and i love the overall look. I have a set of Perrin Wing Risers on my Subaru and this kit from Boomba is MUCH better. If you enjoy the look I say go for it with these. I can't find anything bad to say.

Love your car man! God I wished I got white :(
Thanks man! Don't feel bad, TB is clean as hell too!!

White is the best! I love mine. My gf has a white FoST and my driveway always looks good lol
Judging from my 2 cars, I would have to agree =)

I did the exact same thing with my high beams! I love the look.
Nice! Nokya Bulbs? You should do the fogs if you haven't already!
