You got some good coverage in COBB's 2014 SEMA video. Nice job man!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aErkP0lqJW8&feature=youtu.be
I saw it when they first posted it - thanks!

As most of you know, SEMA was this past week and the car made it's debut in the Ford booth. We were fortunate enough to be placed right at the front of the booth alongside my brother's Expedition and the foot traffic through the booth was insane from opening day.

Just as expected, there were some that loved it and some that hated it but at the end of the day, doing something different was the main objective.

I have to give a huge "THANK YOU" to everyone that helped out with the build, this wouldn't have been possible without their help:
Air Lift
3D Carbon
Baer Brakes
Cobb Tuning
Eibach
Falken Tire
Coplus
LightWurkz
Scosche
Sony

I plan on doing a full shoot soon so once those are done, I'll post them up. Thanks again to all of you that followed the build, I really appreciate the feedback.

In the mean time, if you want to see a few other pictures, be sure to check out @tjinedition on Instagram!

I like everything except the wheels. Some Diamond Racing Steelies would look smexy IMO

What Is the lips model on each side and the front? Is it custom lips?

Thanks

I may or may not keep the wheels - I have some other options in mind but I've only had them on for a bit so I may just keep them for now.

The front lip is a Triple R Composites lip and the side skirts are from Bojix.

... and here's a small piece that Car and Driver did on the build:

Any chance Airlift will produce that kit?
Funny you should ask. I actually had a nice conversation with my guy there and I told him that there was some interested on the forums and he mentioned that they have a new kit request form on their site. The front is already complete, the rear doesn't need much more work on their end. If there's enough traction, it's definitely doable. For anyone interested, click the link below and get in touch... just let them know where you saw it.

I drove it home from Vegas on Saturday and honestly, the ride was really smooth the entire way.

Done, haha... How much lower could it go if it was on 17s?

I really dig the color. Which rear hatch spoiler is that?

It still goes lower but with the offset that I'm running the front starts to get iffy with the fender/bumper clearance. I'm pretty sure its a nice fit on 17's with a not too aggressive fitment.

Thanks - it's actually the 3D Carbon spoiler. I couldn't find any half decent pictures online beforehand but I've used their parts in the past and the fit and finish is way better than a lot of the stuff out there so I just decided to go for it. I love it.

I noticed you mixed and matched the front, sides and rear wing. Were you able to get piece prices from 3D carbon? I like their rear wing and lower rear skirt, but they sell it as a package.

I know the guys there so I was able to get it by itself so I'm not sure how that all works.

So boredom, a few minutes to spare and the addition of an LED light bar I had sitting around led to this... and yes, I know it's still ugly and disappointing. [thumb]

I love it... I wouldn't do the color or the wheels myself, but as stated above, it's awesome. Way to be different!! Turned out amazing man.

I like where you were going with it including your use of 50's Filing Cabinet Beige (one of my fave classic car colors) but I think specifically, the white rally wheels is what got you the negative reaction to what was otherwise a pretty nice build

it's sema and you gotta take risks, so I can appreciate the decision to go w/something bolder...

for what it's worth in my opinion, if you'd done the rally wheels in say black outers w/ with silver caps (maybe lip too) it might've gotten a better response, but something the bridges the gap between retro and modern styling sensibilities, I think most of the critics don't quite appreciate the juxstaposition

also needs a rally innovations splitter ;P

It's pretty amazing that the cleanest, simplest car is getting so much response (even if negative). It proves that it's the riskiest car, even though it doesn't have a shark head on it, stickers or obnoxious chrome everywhere or even multicolor wheels.

I like controversial cars, and even though I'm STILL not sure if I like this car or not (I'm leaning toward liking it). It's a solid build that makes people take notice without any gimmicks.

aLL STaR said you would "either love it or hate it" in this thread and it's very polarizing, and I like it for that reason. Although I'm still disappointed it wasn't battleship gray with Ronal Teddy wheels [:p]

Appreciate it, at the end of the day I just wanted to try and push the envelope and do something a little different than the "expected".

Love it. I'm a bit biased towards brown cars, though ;)

Brown cars, yuck.

I'm in a white wheel phase, hence... white wheels. I'm tired of gloss black, matte black, black, textured black, ______ black so I went back to white wheels like I did back in 1998 but for the style, I really just like pissing people off and clearly this worked. [woot]

Honestly, I knew that more people would hate/dislike/be disappointed from the get go but that was always the plan. Like I told the guys at Ford when we had dinner at SEMA, I really just wanted to build the anti-tuner, tuner car. I could have done flashy paint, "tuner" wheels and the usual but what's the fun in that? Either way, I'm an adult and I take the good with the bad... I actually enjoy the bad.
