Im curious as to which FMIC is the best, I live in Las Vegas so a better FMIC is a must. I just want to know which one would be the best for the desert life, I really like Joes from 2J even though its not out yet it looks really good. Any thoughts?

I think the 2jr one looks the best so far. Wait for it to come out and see

Hunter, lmk if you ever head to a cars and coffee or another event around like an autox etc. I'd like to check out your car.

I currently have a mr2 Spyder with a 2zz-GE engine with 6 speed swapped into it.

Is that the last Celica GT-S motor? Bet that's a cool little car. What does it weigh ?

What about Airtec? The SA FiST community seems to be raving about it.

Sorry to off topic a bit hunter. Yes, that's it skittle. Also same drivetrain as used in the Lotus Elise. Spyder weighs around 2200 lbs. Elise is even less. Motor is a high revving 8500 limit screamer, but lacks torque. Torque is what I miss and why I'm interested in the Fiesta.

Is a 5-6psi blower not a available for those motors?
Even my buddies 1988 crx HF with 58hp stock ended up being a super fun little car with a jackson racing supercharger on it. The crx si was light years better of a motor vs the Si motor, and the celica GT-S is a way better motor than the 88' crx si motor so... Being rwd and the same weight, that thing would be AWESOME with a roots blower.

Still not going to run 12's or anything, but man it would fun.

Greddy made a kit, but they are discontinued. There are turbo kits, but I like superchargers. Had one on my Gti VR6. Beautiful thing. Guys with similar setups as mine are in 13's so with an SC 12's aren't out of the question. I haven't been to a 1/4 mile yet. I see the FIST runs about a 15 stock. Everything has been made to swap in a honda K24 except wiring for smogging isn't good yet. (Working obd2) you can see approx 250 whp with boltons.

Hunter is right about needing the best intercooler here in the heat of Vegas. An oil cooler would help also if there is one available.

I vote for the ATP setup. I like their writeup and dyno charts as well as the fit and finish of the intercooler. It's just as much about pressure drop as it is about size, remember that!

I really like ATP. But... There "testing" reported that the IAT on the stock turbo made it to 173degrees in 3 pulls. I'm in Florida, and never saw more than 131degrees in road course type testing. Another guy that races reported the samething.

Keep in mind, on a road course you have a ton of air going through the intercooler, and that's hard to replicate on a dyno, even with a fan.

Just say'n.... 3 pulls. Sounds to me like someone tripped over the power cord to the fan and didn't remember to plug it back in until they started installed the ATP cooler for round #2, lol.

I'm sure is a great cooler either way. It sure looks great. But... Selling it to people like that, not what I would call 100% honest. They could have easily used a cobb just like everyone else does to log IAT's and posted there findings that way, AND THEN just post dyno gains.

Keep in mind, we as humans can find a way to nitpick about anything. Who cares what the max temp was. Just because the temps don't match your environment doesn't mean it's wrong, just look at the delta. I agree they could have post more data but you can extrapolate based on the delta.

Who cares what the max iat temp coming out of the intercooler when your looking at upgrading your intercooler...

And "my environment" is the harshest we have in the U.S.

I'll take 108degrees dry in vegas ANYDAY over 95degree day in Florida with 100% humidity. Not only is it crappy for humans, its HEAVY HEAVY air for turbos, which means... Heat.

So unless ATP's shop is in... Middle southern Mexico or something, I don't know how they saw 170+ degree temps... Car over heating (running warm) at road Atlanta in the Summer, and the temps don't go above 130-ish degrees, but 3 single gear pulls at ATP = 173degree?

They posted those number back when not everyone know what the stock intercooler numbers were.

Now... Its Summer and hot about everywhere in the US, and tons of people have seen the output temps never climb above 130 degrees.

I'm not disappointed with the product. I'm sure its MORE than upto the task, just the way its being sold.

I will be buying one of ATP's turbo kits. But they are sort of selling the Turbo kits the sameway. Tons of questions around that car, zero answers. Every computer programmer in the world with a Fist is going to buy that GTx turbo and expect 12.40's with just the mods listed. That "unfinished" mod list is only 1/2 the story with that car.

I put a set of $1500 turbo manifold from ATP on a friends buick gran national like 14 years ago, and the products were awesome. I'm sure they still are. When i found out they were going to be selling big turbo kits, I was one of the first people to vouch for there products. Just... Don't do it in a shady way, lol.

With 23.5psi in July, I've still yet to see more than 135degrees.

You very much should care about charge temps coming out of a intercooler when you are talking about cooler performance.

I also see all the delta and peak number talk and such was either ignored or went over your head.

You said it, lol, not me... I was showing you how silly it sounded.

And yea.. Delta stuff, yea... I mod cars, I don't work in a lab, lol.
