Any rubbing issues? And did you have to camber anything for it to fit, or is this just straight coils and nothing else??
What he said...cause I'm not as slammed as you (Mountune springs) and currently on 16x7 Rota Grid's +42, and I'm hoping my next set of tires be 225's.

Yeah, I quoted the wrong person. Ha. Same question but to you sir.
Rubbing is very minimal at the ride height shown in the pictures for daily driving use, for AutoX I raised the front up. I plan on getting the front fenders rolled and I'm currently running -1.5 degrees of camber in the front.

All done. Lots of sanding, lots of patience, but now the wheels fit. I left them a tiny bit on the tight side on the inner portion of the hub bores, but as I described in my previous post I was able to get them flush by hand with no crazy tricks and with finger tight on the lugs they were solid on the rotors. Anyway, tragedy averted, the hub's are good, the studs are good, no visible damage to the wheel and I bought new lugnuts for good measure because the caps on the old ones were loosening from my pressing the other day. Now, some pics because that's what this thread is all about.

Quick question, Are you lowered in these photos?

Yes, Mountune lowering springs; they claim 1.1 inch drop in the front and .8 in the back. I also swapped away from these wheels in light of the issues I had. I loved their appearance and the meatiness of the tire, but something wasn't quite right at highway speed and I was honestly just tired of messing around with it. I bumped up to 16" Sparco AG's and am loving them. I do prefer the 15" appearance but the 16's are a good middle ground. I've been meaning to get pics posted but I've had a lot going on and have been pretty absent from the forum lately.

Hoping I don't run into issues with my 15x8s when they show up. From what I have read Eibach, Mountune, and Cobb are all made by Eibach and all the same drop.

I'm pretty sure my issue was an edge case based on other people I've talked to that run the TD's with no issue. The only real reason I didn't get them again was because I wanted to get something with hub centric rings instead of a hub centric bore because of what happened to me. Bore is "better" in theory, but with rings you have more control and if there is a size issue you don't need to worry about machining and crap, you just get new rings.

For the springs, you are correct. That said, each one claims their respective rebranding is sprung to their own specs. Not sure if it's true, but I've had no issues with mine at all in approx 3k miles and I enjoy the added cornering stability. I'm sure the Eibach and Cobb will deliver the same results.

After a 4 month wait, I picked up my TD 1.2's today in 15x8 et35 mounted with Toyo R888's in 225/50's. This might be the meatiest yet.[biggrin]

*** EDIT - You'll need to pull/roll both front and rear fenders for these to fit without rubbing. ***

Wheel gap with stock springs...

The height of those may just convince me to put 225/50s on the 1.2s (instead of the shorter 225/45s).

IF I did not fear both the 2000 mile tread life, and them picking up EVERYTHING laying out on the roads around here, and flatting all the time, those tires, or their RA1s would be my daily driven summer tires. ;)

HOW did you do those center caps!?!? (SWEET!) [coolsmile]

I've been running R compound tires on the street, during the summers, for 20 years without a single puncture or failure. For a performance car driven in canyon type driving, they are simply the best. They are bad in rain and when they do heat up and get soft, sure they pick up gravel, but all that becomes negligible when you feel how they can transform a car's performance. If you search for reviews on the R888, some people are getting over 10k miles on the street. So, if your needs fit this model, and you're not concerned about getting 50k miles out of a tire, then I heartily recommend that you try them.

Oh, I want to say that I am so happy with this setup. Ride is much better. Total grip is astronomical. And the best part is the looks. It has transformed the car into some kind of radical go-cart, modern image of a prepped 1960's Mini. People stare. It's about as far away from poked, stretched, cambered as you can get. I love it! Only downside is I'm getting a little rub on the outside of the rear tires. I have an appointment at a body shop to do a little roll and pull to get about 1/4" more clearance.

I know that this is not an optimum track setup. The wheel should be 1, or even 2 inches wider. For that matter, it should be a 16" with a lower profile. This was my choice for a street driven car based upon all the criteria that I have described. Everything's a trade-off. [raceflag]
