Just to be clear, the PS A/S3 is a very impressive 3 season tire(labeled all season but we know they are not great in the snow) as they handle very well and for many drivers would be plenty fast in daily driver use and they should last longer than other options so could be lower in cost or equal. If not for running much more power than stock I would not up added another set of wheels and tires to my too big collection, I would of kept using the PS tires which I still have and likely to keep

What are the beefiest tires I can go with on the stock wheels with no drop? Given the ungodly rough roads in Pittsburgh, I probably won't be touching the actual suspension of my car.

Also, relevance.
I have no clue lol I'm assuming Pittsburgh roads are just as bad as philly roads . I'm still on factory potenzas on oem. I have not not installed my sparco yet.

Are you lowered at all? That's the tire size I want on 17x8 TD Pro Race 1.2. I'm lowered on Mountune springs and I'm worried about rubbing.
I'm running mountune springs also. They actually have a few mm's clearance to the fender and a finger tip width clearance to the strut. The 17x8s would probably fit the tire size a little better.

I finally put my TF wheels on my car. 17x8 (don't know the offset). 215/45/17 stock height still. Looks better in person but would prefer it to be lower but they are rubbing a little bit on big bumps already.

What tires did you go with?

I don't remember. I got them about a year ago for my focus as these wheels were on them and I was trying to get something that would last a bit longer so I think they have a high tread wear rating. My focus is more of a beast than my FiST is.

I just to got figure out if I can lower it with these wheels on. Has anyone done it? Do I just need to roll the fenders or is that not enough? I just want some basic drop coils, mountune etc. I don't like how loose it gets in the corners which I know could be a few things but it should help.

This thread is full of excellence & win! This car should have been equipped with some 15" or 16" wheels from the factory.

I'm going to replace the stock 17x7 wheels with some wide & light 15x8 wheels & some fat 205/55-15 tires.

Great, you will love the improved performance and ride:)

205/50/15 would likely be a better fit as possibly closer to stock diameter, the 225/45/15 I run, which are good on an 8" wheel though mine are 9" wide, are 23" versus the 23.4" of the stock tires.

The right 205 on an 8" rim is a great way to go though depending on the tires you choose and the use of them you may want to go a bit wider.

^ I've even looked at getting 195/55-15 tires on 15x7.5" wheels too. Problem is finding a 4x108 wheel in 15x7.5". [mecry]
One thing I learned is don't go that skinny. Go 205 or higher for performance gains. I'm rocking 6.5 wheels with 195/55 and I can't wait to go up to 7 inch wheels with 205/50 or 225/45s.

The stockers are getting worn so I've been lurking on Tire Rack, Discount Tire Direct, NTB, Walmart and half a dozen other wheel and tire sites. Well, I finally bit the bullet. Just pulled the trigger on some 205/50-16's A/S and a set of 16x7's. I'll post pics when they come in and get mounted.

BLACK FRIDAY is the win:
$70 gift card for tire purchase plus free Road Hazard from Tire Rack.
$100 gift card for wheel purchase and free shipping from Discount.

Great choices!

I have recommended those wheels a number of times, they are well make, pretty light, well priced, look great. They are made by Konig, I have the 17" Konig Feather which is very similar and really like them but was going to sell them and the Mich PS-3 A/S and get 16's or even 15's in Konig Helix. I swapped to 4x100 right after getting the car late winter in 2014.

The tires are great as well, if I go to 16's I will get them for sure, if 15's I have to pick something else and the best for my needs is the Kumho X4 II but I would rather have the BFG's

Think I'm going to take this sale opportunity and buy next years tire. You recommend 205/45 or 205/50?

And the wheels are 16x7. Any advice would be appreciated!
