I'm really just kind of shocked that there are so many people who choose the Cobb AP and their OTS or custom tuning from someone versus Livernois. I mean, the sales numbers don't even seem anywhere close. The Cobb unit sells probably 100:1 compared to the Livernois tuner. I can see maybe most people liking the extra features that Cobb offers on their AP but still surprised there are THAT many people who do. I feel that what hurts Livernois is the lack of marketing or something. Their name and this tuning option is probably not even known to many people. I could be wrong on that but that's what it feels like. This is pretty much the only thread dedicated to discussing this tune. There's just not much information or discussion on this option outside of this thread.

Anyway, thanks for another review. I'm still heavily leaning towards going the Livernois route. And at this point, I think I'm only planning on going Stage 2 at the most.
I agree with such good results and positive reviews not only with the FiST but all ecoboost cars you'd think more people would go with Livernois I'm sure glad I did. One of the best kept secrets in the focus/fiesta st world haha. I consider mine my secret weapon hehe

After driving this car for a little while, this tune is just night and day. The 1-2 shift wide open throttle just rips into second gear. Instead of the normal slight bog you get with the stock tune.
This car is so much fun to drive now! I love this tune.
I chose it for a couple reasons. I love to be different, and want to show the local cobb fanboys what a real tune does. Also I know livernois and some of the cars they build are in the several thousand horsepower range. They have many many ecoboost world records.
I think they can handle a fiesta no problem, haha.

After driving this car for a little while, this tune is just night and day. The 1-2 shift wide open throttle just rips into second gear. Instead of the normal slight bog you get with the stock tune.
This car is so much fun to drive now! I love this tune.
I chose it for a couple reasons. I love to be different, and want to show the local cobb fanboys what a real tune does. Also I know livernois and some of the cars they build are in the several thousand horsepower range. They have many many ecoboost world records.

It pulls something fierce I love it. I average 28-29.5 mpg since I got the tune mixed driving with occasional wot jaunts and I'm always blasting the ac in this summer heat as well. Seems several others have went with this tune in this thread since I switched over couple months back and that's good. When i was looking to tune the op and a couple more were all that had it and info was limited but now word seems to be spreading somewhat. Its much deserved!!

And yours is all stock other than tune right? You're saying night and day comparing Livernois tune versus stock?

Which tune did you have before?
Sorry for the confusion but this is the only tune I have ran and based on my experience with it and the others here who have tried other tunes and like this one best, I'm most certainly glad I went this route from the beginning. Stratified is known to have one of the better tunes for the FiST and there are two people in this thread now who have made the switch from them to Livernois and both prefer the Livernois tune. Its night and day from stock...definately a huge difference. It obviously has bostloads of power low and mid range compared to stock but even to 6500 redline she pulls nice which is impressive to me. I think its fairly obvious at this point....unless you plan to tune yourself or getting a custom e tune or something the livernois tune is for sure the best option for those planning to run 91/93 fuel. I myself am stock outside of my LMS 93 tuns and k&n drop in....car is much quicker than stock. With a tune this aggressive it'd be a good idea to upgrade the intercooler and downpipe....ecspecially the FMIC. heat soak can be a problem even stock the tune is just going to make that worse and I do plan to upgrade mine when I can. All I can say for those in the fence....do it...if you don't plan on an e tune or running higher than 93 octane gas this is for sure the best tune out there...I can't wait to dyno mine and run it at the track to see what she can do. I will be running at the bristol dragway in bristol tn and its known to not be the greatest track out there and sometimes da can get up to 5000+ on muggy summer days/nights. I should be able to get well into the 14s easily as long as I can hook up decent. It just depends on the day and what the da is like. I like to think conservative just to avoid disappointment then if I end up with better numbers than I thought its just icing on the cake. One thing I know is the car is much quicker than stock. I believe if I was able to run myself before the tune with the tune on I think I'd pull on the stock version of my car by at least 4 car lengths possibly more. That's a pretty significant difference for just a tune imo

Am I understanding that the Livernois tune is an OTS with no option for custom? If so, I can't imagine the Livernois being better than Stratified. Unlike fat girl clothes, one size tune does not fit all.

And from my understanding, it seems they say they have figured out how to do that and is done by their proprietary tuner and that it's implied that others have not figured out how and/or the Cobb AP doesn't allow you to do that. I could be totally wrong on that though.

I can't speak for them, we can let [MENTION=831]Livernois Motorsports[/MENTION] speak for themselves.

I will personally be Stage 2 soon, so for what it's worth I can dyno it again and see if I have Stage 2 numbers or even better to see if it truly does adapt.

These forum members who've made the switch from Stratified to Livernois, were they running the OTS Stratified tune or a custom tune? Am I understanding that the Livernois tune is an OTS with no option for custom? If so, I can't imagine the Livernois being better than Stratified. Unlike fat girl clothes, one size tune does not fit all.

As much as I liked the Stratified OTS Tune, the Livernois OTS Tune provided me with these features over Stratified:

1. More linear and forceful power delivery w/o the "Donkey Kick" sensation. It feels more like a 5 cylinder NA engine than a Turbo 4 engine.

2. Broader Power delivery from 2500-6000 rpm vs 2500-5000 rpm. Livernois feels as strong as Stratified, but it allows the car to pull up to 6000 rpm before you noticed it dies out, whereas Stratified felt weaker after 5000 rpm.


It's great to hear comparative feedback. In what aspects do you feel that the Livernois tune beats out the Stratified?

Yet there are still non beleivers after 48 pages and 2+ years and more than one person switching over and preferring Livernois. These guys know what they're doing. They can get within a couple % gain with their remote tuning as they can with their dyno tuning so unlike other tuners having a dyno tune isn't going to make a huge night and day difference over their remote tune. Why you ask? Because they know what they're doing....just read up on them if you don't know. They consistantly get better numbers with their tune than anyone else not just with the FiST but with all the ecoboost cars they tune. No need for remote tuning when you know what you're doing and get it right from jump street. Is there room to squeeze out a couple HP on a dyno with them? Probably....am I ever going to notice the difference...probably not. Like Ive said 100 times before....unless you plan to self tune or plan on running an e tune or higher than 93 octane race gas tune (100 octane for example) this tune is the best one to go with hands down. I'd take their "canned" remote tune over pretty much anyone else's "custom" tune using 93 octane. I have trouble believing anyone is going to be able to get any more power or a better power curve on a stock car while keeping mpg and drivability as good as it is. I think its a safe bet. Some people just feel better having a "custom" tune....to each their own. If my canned remote tune does better power and has better drivability than someone else's "custom" tune you can sign me up with the generic canned tune. Get their tune and maybe you'll be a beleiver too...its really astonishing what they are able to do with a stock car with nothing more than a 93 performance tune and drop in k&n. I am a believer that's for sure....maybe LMS will chime in...
