I threw it into neutral on the freeway, shut off the engine, and “bump started” at like 50-60mph in 4th. Guessing I fried something but I lost boost. Where do I even start looking cuz I don’t think carmax would cover this

possibly the dumbest thing ive done “just to see”

It’s never a good time when you let your intrusive thoughts win.

What do you mean by you lost boost? What troubleshooting steps have you already tried? What is the vehicle doing and is it displaying a Check Engine Light? Can you have it scanned to see if it has any engine trouble codes?

Funnily enough I fired her up this morning and it’s fine. I did try to check all the intake stuff but nothing else. Last night it just felt like it lost 80+HP. Everything sounded the same except for a weird idle. I guess it went into a limp mode. All electronics ok. So lucky. I did not check for codes maybe I should

sounds like the car freaked out and put itself in limp mode.

In my old integra, I had the car randomly die on the free way once and I bump started the car while rolling, but I damaged my alternator badly in the process. I definitely will not be doing that again and do not recommend it lol

How would bump-starting it damage the alternator unless the engine was over-revved or/and too-quickly revved... in which case having only damaged an alternator is fortunate, if not unusual ?
