Shouldn't the passenger just be able to put the butt part of their Recaro back about 4 inches for a 5'4" person, just for an example for size purposes, and be fine for comfortable room? I'm feeling a lot better about seat room now for the Ford Fiesta ST.
In addition to lumbar adjustment, the driver seat adjust up and down. Sitting in the passenger which doesn't have these adjustments you can tell the difference. Obviously priority on space and comfort go to the driver. Driver side is good. if you have a passenger that is on the bigger or/and taller side, you might be punching a knee when you got to shift. Not a big deal though. They won't notice anyway as they'll be too distracted with your aggressive acceleration and cornering. 😁

I'm 6'2" & have a 2019 w/ Recaros.
Lots of space for the driver. In fact, there's more driver room in the FiST than there is in the FoST (if you don't account for the recaros in the FoST being slightly wider).
~2in extra leg room in the FiST.
(I know this dumb piece of information because my uncle Buzzz - who is 6'6" - tested for Link back in the early 2010s & got to test the Fiesta.
Rigorously. Needless to say, there's a reason he purchased a first model year FiST brand new with Recaros & still owns it today.)
Back seat space is minimal - there's a reason the European market got the 2dr hatch.
Hatch space is good, but there's only so much you can put back there.
I'm still new to the Fiesta community, so there's only so much I know at this point.

Good information, indeed. Thank you for all of that on the Fiesta ST's room in various parts of the car. The car doesn't look very big on the outside, but it doesn't look tiny. For instance, it's got to have the original VW Beetle beat for available interior room! That may not be saying much, but, well, you know.

backseat and hatch definitely have more room. you can safely fit 4 people in a FoST, even with recaros.
I have watched some videos on the Ford Focus ST and in the last video I watched the video creator said that, if you're an adult, riding in the back seat of the FoST would be an uncomfortable experience. Never checked that out - but, and I think it's a big butt - it seemed to me that the FoST has enough room back there that an average-sized adult could last for a vacation of 500 miles each way back there without yelling out loud inconsolable.

Somehow, I'm able to survive a long trip in the back of a FiST. I did that in Dec 2022 when my father, sister, and I drove in his FiST from Peoria, AZ to Anaheim, CA so we could go to Disneyland with family.
It was quite a long drive, and the 60% seat was folded down to store luggage.
Never actually had a chance to do as much as sit in a FoST or FoRS.

I would think that if you could handle that long ride in a FiST one could more easily ride in the back of a FoST for a long ride. I bet you had to sit sideways back there in the Fiesta ST? Or no?

You sit taller in the Fiesta than the Focus. The seat base is higher. Sometimes that's more comfortable than a lower seat that has two inches more between it and the seatback ahead.

One could potentially...
I had to keep my legs spread wide apart & they were both in the center console & door. My sisters knees were almost inside the dash.

I'd like to add that I've compared the base seats to the recaros... and MAN. those base seats feel so much higher. doesn't feel like a sports car with those seats. they work for my dad, but i just can't with them.

I was talking about the back seats. But the front seats (and I'm talking about Recaros) are higher than the front seats in a Focus ST. The whole seating position is different in the FoST. You sit more with your legs stretched out and arms out. In the FiST, it's designed to sit closer to the wheel with more elbow bend, and sitting more upright. At the ST Octane Academy I had adequate opportunity to drive in both, as they used both of them in different parts of the course.

Interesting! I haven't ever had a chance to drive (or sit in) a FoST. I'd like to one day...
