Wouldn't gear ratio as well as tire height have a decent effect on "rpm per minute". I mean if the Fost is seeing a taller tire ( it is ) and a taller gear ratio ( it is ), that would mean that while the rpm per second maybe the same, the speed increase per second would be a good bit different.
For example.... Take a stock mustang with a 2.73 rearend and do a "rpm per second" then swap in a 4.10 and you'll freak out at the increase in "rpm per second". But what you would also notice is... At the end on the pull, one is going 110mph and the other is going 85mph, lol.
And tires of course have the same effect. I'm pretty sure that not only does the focus have a taller final drive, but its tires are a good amount taller as well. In this case... The Focus still wins, lol.
