Could you help me with the path for activation of TPMS from forscan when you’ll have some time, please? Then I can show it to my friend who have forscan and try to activate it. Also, if you made this conversion from Sync 1 to Sync 3, could you show me the menu for TPMS? Or just where can I find the TPMS in the Sync 3 menu. Thanks!

There is no menu for tpms in sync3 here. It's just a light on the cluster. We aren't allowed to disable it.

Let's say that you have a deflated tire and the light in the cluster will appear, after you inflate the tire, you need to reset the TPMS or the light will be go off automatically (when you inflate it at the same pressure before the deflation)?
Here, when I had Sync 1 and the TPMS or DDS was present in the Vehicle Settings menu, if I had a flat or deflated tire, the light was present in the cluster and after I resolved the flat or inflate it at the specified pressure, I need it to go in that menu and hold OK from the radio button in order to reset it and keep the new value for reference and then the light went out.
In your case, how do you reset the values of the new pressure in Sync 3 in order that the light on the cluster to disappear?

We don't have any TPMS indication at all in Sync 3. It is only an indicator light in the dashboard gauges. It goes off by itself if you fix a low tire pressure. You have to drive a bit and it goes out on its own.

Sync3 and tpms do not talk. Like at all. Zero.

The light will clear on its own after pressure is corrected.

I recently sold my 2016 Focus ST3 a couple of months ago and bought a CT4-V Blackwing. However, one too many door dings at work has me looking for a DD. I am going to look at a 2014 Fiesta ST this afternoon, and was hoping someone could let me know if the Sync3 upgrade is literally just a case of updating the screen, APIM, and USB hub. I switched out the USB hub to upgrade my Sync3 version in the Focus, but am not very electrically-inclined. And yes, I'm sure the answers are buried somewhere within this thread but I'm at work and leaving right after to look at the Fiesta. I'd be very much obliged if anyone can help out :-D

The hardware is easy to swap out. All you're doing is the Screen, APIM, and USB Hub. There is an "upgraded" usb hub with usb c. There is also an adapter you'll need for the usb power. The software part of it is kind of confusing but relatively easy. The hardware is ~15 minutes. The software is about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your experience.

It's 100% worth the upgrade except for how often the damn thing chimes now. Anything you do will cause the car to chime. Getting in? Chime. Getting out? Chime. You spoke too softly? Chime. Sometimes when I'm just standing near the thing it'll chime now. My gf, roommate and a friend have all commented on how much it chimes now. lol

What is this chiming you are talking about?? I never had that issue in my Focus running Sync 3.0 - 3.4 🤔

It's the old person reminder chime. So whenever you open the car door it chimes to remind you to look in the back seat or whatever. It's been discussed on here quite a bit, lol. I think the forscan thread has like 10 people asking how to remove the chime.

Updated from Sync 2 to 3 today, but am getting the USB splash error on startup. Not a big deal, as I was going to run the 3.4 update tonight and replace the USB hub that's coming Wednesday. Unfortunately, I missed the memo about MY20 APIM's not being compatible with the 3.4 update (2014 ST with a September 2019 manufactured APIM).

I'm ok staying on version 3.0, but would like to update the hub so I can get Type-C charging and eliminate the error message on startup. However, all the Amazon hubs require 3.4 to be installed. Are there any other hubs I can look at?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I didn't notice it when I originally switched to Sync 3 because I was parking outside but then I moved and park in my garage so I often leave the windows down and now I hear it all the time. It's not every time, but more often than not when I'm either entering or leaving the garage it'll chime, and also sometimes right as I'm unlocking or opening the door. Nothing ever shows up on the screen so I have no idea what it's trying to tell me. Doo-dee-doo.

It's seriously confusing as to when it chimes. I don't get it.

Does anyone know of the generic 4" to 8" wire harness you can find on eBay and the like, such as this one will also work for our 6.5 inch? Hoping to save what I can since I bought a whole lot from eBay with the screen, apim, vent control and cd player (already had that but whatever)

Yeah that didn't work. I had to buy the one from Navi Upgrade since I had sync 1. I don't have an ST, hopefully it's ok to.be posting here since this has been the most popular thread on this upgrade. Anyway it was a pricey upgrade, 515 for the screen, apim, sun shade, control panel and the bracket to hold all that to the ACM and then 225 for the harness. Just need to get a proper carplay hub and I can't find the center console bracket in stock anywhere so I may be tucking that under my passenger seat and running a long USB cable up. If anyone can measure that little bracket holder for the USB hub in the center for me, I might try and rough out something in cad and make some prints at home of something so anyone else doing this upgrade has an option for near stock look
