Started getting the car prepped for Barber. For a long time I have been fighting BRUTAL torque steer. I checked all the engine mounts and nothing is broken or shredded. A while back I modified the sleeve in the Mountune dog bone to make it larger and fix the ovaling that I was seeing with the original stainless sleeve.

Nothing looks bad though after my larger sleeve went in.

The trans mount looks OK, nothing scary. I added these Silicone Rubber strips back when I put my new clutch in. They don't really do anything as far as I can tell.

I ordered the two poly inserts from Powerflex from Ron last night, hope they show up in time. I am gonna do the Race insert on the trans side and the street insert on the Engine mount. I think I will make a larger sleeve for the big bushing on my Mountune dog bone and make a delrin bushing for the small end. I compared the durometer of the bushings on the Mountune part and they appear to be about 65a. I think if I don't like my mods I can machine some 75-80a durometer bushings for it later.

Time to clean the wildlife out of the air filter.

Also finally ready to bend the expensive material for the bigger rear bar. May get to that tomorrow.

I also pulled the back seat out tonight to start prepping for a rear battery mount in the spare tire well or passenger floor board. May also do a flat floor setup in the back to just have a "load floor". Probably gonna start measuring for a roll bar as well.

Get the six speed. Gearing is better

Wonder if you can upgrade a couple of simple components in the shifter to get from the 5sp to 6spd? Worth asking them if they will answer.

^^That is cool since it allows you to keep a stock type clutch setup (AND the factory bellhousing without an adapter as well!) instead of the required 'on/off switch' full race/rally setup of the Sadevs and X-Tracs.

I wonder if the requisite rebuild intervals are any better than the rest of the sequentials out there? [dunno]

Would depend on the driver and how they handled their shifts.

No reason you couldn't run a decent clutch with better manners in a street car. 4 plate organic would last a long time and be plenty strong enough could also get away without having a monster pressure plate force so it wouldn't be on/off.

Where are you located? I have seen an Orange Spice maybe once. There are two other Molten Oranges, one in Madison I think (never met him), one here in Huntsville. I have seen a Grey one and a Black one on my side of town somewhat frequently. DTulley has a white one in Madison.

I'm in North Huntsville but drive to Madison for work every day. I see a black one occasionally but haven't seen any orange spice or molten yet. There's more Focus STs for sure. I have a grey one too but I rarely drive it, it's almost always the orange spice.

You have two Fiestas? Thats awesome. Which one doesn't have a sunroof, that can be your track car.
You should ride out and check out the car. I am just over the mountain on the way to Hampton Cove. Hopefully I can get the car out of the trailer this weekend. House reno is getting in the way of all the fun stuff.

Oh Baby!!!

Looks like they realized a problem with the OEM forward and back cable and now send a replacement ball end fitting. You have to cut off the OEM plastic end, (which is squishy anyways), then attach this piece to the metal shaft on the OEM cable.

I have some concerns about the length of the OEM cables. It seems like the OEM cables are too long when installing the Coolerwerx shifter.

Anyone else have this problem?
