I already did one of these. (this was my second)
However, mine was a 427 big block.
I would say that it handled better than the FiST, but that was because one tire on the Cobra was as wide as all four of the FiST tires.
I was looking at factory five cars thinking they'd be fun with a high revving 4 cylinder or 6, or maybe a rotary. It would be wrong as all hell, but... I'd rather have something I can push hard without going to jail. The coyote powered ones are sweet but its not something I could really ever flog on public roads.

That thing looks awesome. Built a factory five with my dad when I was in high school. 2500 lbs with 429 big block, no hydraulic clutch, no power steering or brakes much less any sort of traction/stability control. Too much fun
That’s one of the things I love about the fiesta, back when they were in production, they were not very expensive. Even in the used market 15k can get you a nice low mileage fiesta st.
(And yes, I know that it is almost impossible to find any capable max performance rated donuts in the 'proper' big sidewall profile needed to be authentic to the build. )
lol! i know i was agreeing with you. that was more pointing out the type of audience this car is marketed to AKA the "why would i drive a FiestaST when i can drive a Cayman RS?" crowd
edit: as in the Miata engine-swap companies are marketed to the FiestaST crowd. that roadster isn't even marketed to the "performance no matter the cost" crowd. it's marketed to the "i want what no one else has" crowd
