Finished my Whoosh hybrid install and am super excited!! Took it out for a spin last night to get it up to temp then checked for leaks etc, seems good so far. Removal was a bit of a bitch and I felt like I was going to panic a couple of times but re installation ended up being a breeze....and I learned a lot. I did the removal all by myself and this may have been part of the reason it was a pain. When I installed, I had my son help me and just that extra set of hands was a game changer!!
I did NOT put the upper heat shield back on....anyone know if this will be a problem?
Necessary? Not exactly however I would still have a shield or cut the shield to fit if you can. While you have it off, have it ceramic coated. Ideally the turbo should run slightly cooler as you're moving more air with a larger turbo at the same pressure, so you can run lower boost to meet equivalent power.

They dust even more than the Motorcraft 'summer' OEM pads?
I have motorcraft pads in the back and ebc yellows up front and the ebc pad’s definitely produce more dust, even accounting for the fact that the fronts do more work. The dust difference is especially noticeable on my white wheels. I’ll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow

Finally bought a Jack. Tired of borrowing the neighbors. I’m sure my lady will LOVE where it’s currently being stored haha ( small living space). Installed Whoosh Race Spec RMM. Received the powerflex inserts that will be going in soon.

I had those before my BBK and they would dust but these EBC’s dust even more. I’d wash my wheels and doing a few hard stops will put a nice powder on them already. I have EBC Reds on the rear right now and those dust a lot too lol

Got both controls arms installed. Even scored a same day alignment at Firestone. All I can say is... These control arms are magical compared to stock controls arms. Can't wait to see how the car handles with sway bars and BC coils on the car.
If you are dropping the subframe to do the front sway bar, consider upgrading the steering rack bushings as well. They improve steering response and road feel in addition to what those LCAs provide.

Installed some EBC Reds and Centric Blanks on the front. Says to do 200 miles of normal driving then bed them in, so far so good. They feel great and very linear, came from OEM summer pads.

What racks are these? I wanted to pick up a fishing kayak this summer to hit my local lakes.

These are the ones I bought. They’re not the highest quality but they definitely work. I would wrap the metal brackets in electrical tape to prevent them from scratching the paint. Also I had to play with mine a bit to get them to fit correctly, there’s no instructions.
Once I got them on right they were pretty solid. I was doing 75mph with a boat on them and everything stayed together fine

I am still on the factory 'all season' pads (yes, amazing that they, and the factory rotors lasted 43K miles with most of it NOT on the highway), and they emit minimal to almost no dust, even in harder use.
But I don't mind the dust if I am getting a bit better bite with less chance of fade just in case I had to do multiple stops on the street, or in the mountains of Maine.

But if the yellows dust significantly more than the OEM summer pads do, with only marginally better performance (and more cost), I will go with the Motorcrafts from Rock Auto. [wink]

Ironically, I have a good jack and jack stands, and a place to store them, but I am not allowed to use them in the parking spots of my current residence. [thumbdown][:(!]

The yellows have amazing stopping power, the bite is insane it caught me off guard lol. But I never tried them on stock calipers, I’m sure someone that has tried the motorcraft pads and yellow stuff can chime in

Congrats. Looking forward to how it feels when tuned!

Heat shield won’t be a problem.
