View attachment 51524 My 2017 next to the wife's Mini S at a local car show.
Is that a R53? What year? We’ve had 2 MCS, an 02’ and a 07’. The 07’ was a massive pile of shat. Constantly breaking, parts were hard to find, and everything was so expensive. But when it was running it was a blast. I almost bought another MCS instead of my FiST, but decided I wanted to try something that might be reliable. Lol.

Its my wife's 2004 R53 her second one. She had a 2003 R53 also. Oddly enough it has less miles on it than my FiST. When they switched to turbo charging reliability went the way of the dodo bird. We'll only get the R53 generation, parts are cheap and easy to work on.

Nice @Mycooking! Everything non-powertrain related also broke on our R53. My son, 14, wants a MCS for his first car. I’m still unsure. I’d like to find a nice used R53 for him since they’re the most mechanically sound. But he might end up getting the FiST and I pick up a GR Corolla. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The previous owners put alot of work into it mechanically. I did replace the valve cover and painted to match, my wife installed the intake and MSD ignition. We did have to chase down a few vacuum leaks and the power steering hose from the reservoir but that's all just cheap stuff. Already came with fully adjustable coil overs , stage 2 clutch, full Borla Exhaust which sounds whicked. In spring it will be time to service the supercharger so we're swapping out to a 15%smaller pulley for the super charger.

Coming up on 7 years of ownership and 60k miles. Gave her a wash today to take advantage of the mild weather.

If you’ve never used Sonax before, buy some. It’s the best wheel cleaner I’ve ever used. The “before” picture doesn’t quite show how filthy the wheels were before cleaning, but trust me they were gross.
