Well then most any 17x7 , 47mm offset, 4x108 wheel should work with a 204/40/17 inch tire..
The older SVT focus rims fit or a less expensive after market would fit in a pinch.
If you want a real Ford factory rim I am sure they can be had just not as cost effective..

I want a true spare for the garage so when I get a flat I can switch it whilst the flat gets repaired or replaced. I don't want to be riding on a space saver for any longer than necessary. Experience has shown me it can take a few days to get the full sized wheel repaired / replaced.

In the US, the wheel (part# C1BZ-1007-G) sells for $199.77each...you might be able to find them a little bit cheaper online

Congratulations! I would not recommend 17x9 to be honest. I have 17x8 and it's pretty wide.

Its cutting it real close, I'm at 38mm right now and its flushed, 13mm = 0.5 inch. Granted I'm 1" wider at 17x8, it might end up being flush like mine. What wheels are you getting?

I don't understand the 195/45R16 recommendation. Any tire/wheel calculator will tell you that 195/50R16 is a more precise match (i.e. closer to the original wheel diameter). The manual says 195/45R16 to allow clearance for chains in winter, but I don't intend to ever install chains. I'm likely going to go with 195/50R16 for winters...

Just a little heads up! The day any of you even think about "stancing" an ST... Sell it... Sell it straight away and leave it for those who want a fully functional ST.

There's no reason not to install the 50 aspect ratio if you don't plan on using or will never need chains.

Have not tried those wheel but I run 15's for track and for winter snow tires they should work great and they look good too

A lower offset causes the wheel to move further outboard.

You won't notice too much of a difference without a drastic offset change. Maybe a fractional amount of lateral grip and stability, but the majority of that is dependent on your alignment.
