Yo Matt...haven't kept up on your build but I read this today........did the X47 blow up or are you just looking for a bit more oomph?
It’s still fine. I’m just considering more power and Pumaspeed advised against running more fuel with the X47.

Spent the afternoon playing with fitment of my new 235/40/17 RT660s. They’re significantly wider than the 235/40/16 RT615K+. I had to roll and pull the rear fenders a bit and have custom 7mm spacers made for the front so the inside of the tire cleared the suspension. I’m using the 17x8 et35 Rota Grids with this tire. Seems like they’ll work but I’ll find out for sure at the track next weekend.

Damn, seems like a lot of work, I hope its worth it
It’s been a lot of work. I could do it all again in 1/4 of the time now that I know exactly what has to be done. The extra grip was worth the effort for me.

With these tires it’s almost exactly 7”. Pretty tall.
Interesting. Looking at my wheel setup, (granted puny 205/40-17s) it looks like I could easily fit a 235 under the fenders if the damn tire companies would make a short 17in tire. Wish I knew some people at tire companies.

I measured mine when I did the setup yesterday and am at 6in. Today I smacked a pretty big pothole and didn't bottom. Also looking at my shock travel indicators, I may have just kissed the bump stops, which leaves me with 1.5in till everything goes to shit. HAHA

How much negative camber do you have? -3 up front and -2.5 rear?

Diameter of the tire has definitely been the challenge. I cut out everything under the front fenders and built brackets to hold the fender and bumper cover out in order to clear max compression. I always bottom out at local tracks so removing that stuff was critical. There’s a lot more work involved to make them fit but yeah, taller tires (most are 24.4) require A LOT of work even with flares.

Looks beautiful! I'm curious how much I'll have to bend/cut to make 225/45-16 r888r fit.
If it’s taller than stock (or 24” + in diameter), you’ll probably need to remove the boxed area that houses the three pain in the ass bumper/fender bolts. I was hesitant to cut all that out but man it’s sooooo much easier to take off the front bumper cover now. Rivnuts are the best!
