Exactly how I would've put it too. It feels pretty invisible, where as no rev hang at all and completely stock felt noticeable way more often.
Interesting, so just to clarify, you and Erick v didn't have Jason disable rev hang but his rev hang feels better than stock or no rev hang? I might have to get him to send me a tune with rev hang on.

My indicator that it’s customized is based on the bullet point for rev hang on the product page. Says that default is “on” with “Dizzy Tuning settings” and it certainly feels better to me!

I'm pretty sure I saw a comment from you reminding me that the Sheetz around us typically have E85 and that's when it really got me thinking. Painless though. Loaded the tune onto the AP, drove down to Sheetz with a 1/4 tank of 93 octane left and aimed for the recommended ratios (with potentially a touch more E85 to be safe), flashed to the E30 tune and it's been great all day!
Ah, well glad I was able to help you spend money 😂
Do you notice that the ethanol gets used up faster than 93? I feel like even adding one gallon makes a difference, but it might be because I love going full throttle to feel the extra torque.

Switched back to a Cobb stage 0 tune so I can use 87 😥. I'm going to have to put up with it until I fix my focus.

Doesn't the rev hang annoy you when shifting fast, especially at higher rpm? I had Jason turn it off in my tune and that's one of my favorite things about it. I feel like with rev hang it's hard on the drivetrain because it jerks badly unless your super slow off the clutch.
Ever do a hard pull and have someone or something require that you clutch-in, cease and desist? I've done this before; RPMs start to fall but all of a sudden the ECU kicks in shoots the RPMs back up and holds it there for up-to a few seconds. It seems quite intentional and don't think they're just arbitrarily doing it. If you're going to disable it, I think you have to remember to keep the RPMs up, under that circumstance, as the ECU was programmed to do.

I think what you're describing is just the high friction point and small friction zone of the clutch. Shifting is all about timing and throttle attenuation. Add the fact that we're dumping boost with each release of the accelerator and can take longer to rebuild if letting the RPMs fall. Even though you're returning the accelerator pedal to the same or similar position, power levels can be wildly at the time of reengage. Personally I'm used to adjusting my shifting to the vehicle. If you're engaging quicker and at a higher RPM, you may have to use more or less throttle than are accustomed to with slower engagements. Since the gear is already engaged and are just waiting to release the clutch, it's not really the RPM fall we're waiting on, but instead on the power level to be at a more predictable level for smoother engagement.

So you think that the rev hang keeps oil flowing to the turbo for a second to prevent damage to the turbo? I have always heard it was for emissions.

Rev hang is for emissions. When you close the throttle suddenly there's no air to burn the fuel that's already there, raising emissions. It started with adding dashpots to carburetors to keep the butterflies open and let the fuel burn. With fuel injection it's programmed into the epu.

There was a grounding strap mod to the throttle body for the mazdaspeed3 that the butt-dyno told me worked so there was no rpm hang. This came from their forum.

IMG_20220309_231808209.jpg My razzter Accessport mount showed up today. I really like it so far, simple, cheap and pretty strong.

On a different note, why is my OAR at -.52 not -1? Is it because I'm running 87? I'm currently on the Cobb stock tune so I'm not worried about it hurting anything, just curious.

Besides that point....do you live in the desert and there is frequent dust devils that insert dirt in your FiST?

Lol, no I don't, but I can explain. I don't have functional ac so I drive with my windows down and I was driving down a gravel road behind my brothers car. We were going pretty fast so there was a lot of dust getting into my car. One day in the not too distant future I will clean it!

I don't want to talk about it!
😂😂
Thank you for reminding me, I actually need to change that. It hasn't been done since I got the car 😱
As you put the new filter in remember that Jesus loves you. You'll thank me later. Especially if it's a stiffer charcoal version
