FINALLY got to do my 'winter' oil change.

4.5 quarts of Ravenol DXG 5W-30, with a Fram ULTRA (NOT their 'orange can of death' base filter-LOL) 3600 filter, and drained about 5 ounces from the Damond OCC. [thumb] [:)]

With almost 7K miles on what I just drained out, that was the longest any oil has ever been in this car's sump since taking delivery of it new.

Left the skid plate off until right before NEFR in mid-July, since I will most likely change the oil before then. [wink]

I honestly can't believe it.. Yesterday my lower radiator hose came off and lost all the coolant.. I didn't even know till I could smell strange smells... Went to get off the main road and it started making tappet sounds.... I had even upgraded the hose clamps to the proper "screw-up" tight ones...

I have no clue what temperature it got up to but some how it seems to have survived it.... So far... Not getting my hopes up tho. Oil seems to still be good..

The temperature sensor won't show a reading from just air.. so no warnings at all.

Fk ford.

My old Infiniti did the same, with some coaxing from a large rock kicked up by a tractor in the field next to highway. Sounds like you caught it fast - my VQ35 was RIP with scored cylinder walls.

Washed it. For the 3rd time this month. We need a week of torrential rain to wash all the crap off the roads that the high winds blew around. Oh and the road works to finish so I can stop using dirt roads to get home.
I wash mine after it has been wet all day from the rain. Often that means throwing on the OLD motorcycle rain suit because it's still raining. Minimizes friction and scratching because the dirt is softened from being wet all day; comes off. GOes up on the race ramps so I can hit the underside 'cause the salt is the killa. I also either don't rinse after wet-ragging it down, or rinse with the wax/ceramic/soap in the applicator. The car wax/ceramic/soap is then left to air-dry; I don't want to wipe or rinse that off. However, I do use glass cleaner on the headlights, tail lights, windshield; specifically to wipe off any wax/ceramic coating from the wash. These are places you don't want any layering or build-up.

Would that place be called California Tint? I did mine the 3rd day i bought my car for $100 and still going on 6yrs strong no bubbles or anything.
Negative. This place is called Mission Auto Sound, 1001 N. Mission Rd. Just found the invoice and it shows $80!

Finished my clay bar/polish/hybrid wax today. Whew that's a lot of work but the car is quite happy.

Also drove it hard. On my e30 tune. This car is nuts. 6 years it never gets boring.

Thanks, no sign of any damage so far.. oil and coolant are both still clean.. haven't given it a full rev out since but seems to be same power.. cam lobes look good from looking through the oil filler hole... At the time I thought it was toast..

Just got my ST out of the body shop after a piece of road shrapnel took out my left side ground effects panel. $1,800 total repair but only $100 deductible. Repairs are perfect and keep my '19 looking perfect. Car will be 3 years old in July and I have driven only 8,500 miles. I suspect it may me the lowest mileage ST around. Was shocked to find the Kelley Blue Book value has increased $5,000 since July, 2021. Great for resale value, not so great for vehicle property tax.

Add a pressure sensor and the computer could use readings from that, in conjunction with existing temperature readings to provide a warning for something like that. But it's just such a rare (almost unheard of) occurrence with modern formed silicate hoses.

Stock stuff is low viscosity DOT 4. If you're going to use racing stuff in a DD, make sure you change it out *very* often. Racing applications often lack relevant additives that help inhibit corrosion and fight water absorption.

Not done today, but, finally got the Whoosh V3 FMIC installed this past week. Also ordered an S280 and catted DP from Ron. DP has arrived, just pending delivery of the S280. Excited is an understatement [giddy][driving]
I personally feel like you should sell those terrible tacky looking Imolas to fund your other parts. It is the responsible thing to do :sneaky:. I might even know someone who would take them off of your hands ...lol
