What would you replace your Fiesta ST with?

I see you that Stratos, and raise you an RS200. [wink] [driving] [thumb]
I'd settle for somewhat more reasonable Escort Cosworth RS, even. That's got to be one of my all time favorite homologation cars and the Group A one of my favorite rally cars.

Just as soon as I have money to waste, I will import an RS over here. Or find one that is already in the US, because I am quite certain people are already importing them.

Same here, and yes, also even more so than the RS200, since they are a bit more 'streetable', and less rare/exotic overall. [driving]

I LOVE the way they looked when set up in Mobil 1/Ford Motorsport livery for tarmac, and Monte Carlo use, as driven by Delacour, Biasion, etc.

I was just responding to Overland's desire for a very rare rally based exotic, both of which are about as scarce as anything nowadays. [wink]

Talking about rally cars, when I used to do the Liege Police Rally in Liege, Belgium, my navigator and I were offered a Lancia 037 the following year by one of the Italian Police Chiefs. We would have access to the whole shebang, car, service crews etc. All we had to do was turn up! Unfortunately, not long afterwards, the Chief passed away before he was able to get it altogether. So close to driving one of the Lancias!

Yes, one of the last of the RWD Group B cars (or was that one still a/last of Group 4??).

I believe it was one of the Gp B cars, same as the one that Henri Toivonen was in when he was killed. Actually met him after he crashed his Ford Escort in Northern Ireland on a rally. Such a nice guy to talk to.

Henri Toivonen was killed in a Delta S4, not the 037, but all the same those Group B Lancias were just crazy machines. You are very fortunate to have met him. Too young when he went and the story behind the crash is so tragic.

My mistake, you are correct. We sat and talked to him for about an hour, he was very shy and kept apologizing for not speaking perfect English, but he understood everything I said and I understood everything he said. Truly a great driver and a perfect gent!

Henri was one of the most talented pilots ever, and a true 'character' in the sport, the likes of which it has never seen, save maybe for Colin.

I miss them both. [:(]

Agreed. I got into rallying during the McRae era, so I owe him for being a fan of both blue ovals, Subaru and Ford.
