That looks cool. Hopefully, you'll become insanely rich soon and then you can tell us if it's as fun as the FiST!
If I was insanely rich, I'd buy a real awd Fiesta rally car and bribe/pay to make it street legal. Probably not gonna happen . . .
Same here, at least an R5 level car. [wink] [driving][raceflag]

My wife has the SE Fiesta and I was told that the transmission fails because of stop and go traffic and the hot weather. So far, no problems.

We test drove an automatic transmission Fiesta before we test drove the ST. The auto would probably last longer if it would ever stop shifting. Just driving down a road the transmission acted like it wanted to make sure you knew it had 6 gears, and used all of them, often. So annoying!

If my car got smashed I'd try to find a newer FIST. Corolla GR has me slightly intrigued. If I get another kid on the way I'll need something slightly bigger for daily fam duties. I have the car seat in the middle right now, and I wouldn't be able to comfortably drive if its on the side. I guess I should check a corolla hatch to see if I could possibly run them on the side.

*edit* this report doesn't sound promising. https://www.cars.com/articles/how-do-car-seats-fit-in-a-2020-toyota-corolla-hatchback-423350/

What year? Ours is a 2014. Doesn't have that problem.

Coworker with a Hyundai had a similar comment about his vehicle, stating that for the way he drives, it constantly shifts if he's in normal/eco mode. So he keeps it in Sport or similar mode where it's not constantly hunting for the most efficient gear. Dunno whether there's a similar option for Ford's automatic sh|t DCTs?

Most all auto boxes have a switch to turn off what I think of as "overdrive". Sport mode is what my wife's Tucson calls it - just puts the numbness and indecision back in my court!! Stoopid jackrabbit start from a lite, but mandatory setting for real conditions - I'll bet it costs 2-3 mpg.

The more I think about it, the more I realize the best cars for me to replace my FiST with would be either the new one, or the Hyundai i20 N, neither of which we can have here in the US. I love how light our car is, and anything else that I think about replacing it with that is available here is significantly heavier.
This confirms my hope to not have to replace my car, I plan to keep it forever.

What do you all think about a car we'll probably never see, a 4wd Stinger hatchback or a Stinger station wagon?
I assume you mean a shooting brake/proper hatchback, cuz the Stinger currently is a hatchback technically. Personally I don't see it as a replacement for the FiST, as it's not stick, it's not light, and it's not small. Great car don't get me wrong and for someone who needs more space, power and comfort, go for it. The best comparo would be the Euro FoST wagon, although that was still FWD I believe
