You must be one of the only owners of one of those Alfas in this whole area!
I have seen ALL SORTS of (even much more co$tly) exotica around here, but I don't believe I've ever seen one of those, live, out in the wild, at all.
I've driven all over Bucks County (lived their for 1.5 years w/ 4C) and I know one guy with a Grey 4C Spider that lives in Bucks County. My 4C is a coupe in Alfa Red.
Unfortunately, there might be a couple of thousand
owners of 4C's in the U.S., but there's probably just a small percentage of actual
drivers, such as me, who actually pound out real miles and wear out things such as tires.
The owners put on high-end track capable tire or expensive Michelin Super Sport 4S tires, and then promptly flat-spot them from sitting. They all wax poetic about the car, and they have 350 miles of seat time per year. I just don't get it. It took me about 5,000-7,000 miles of seat time to master it. You just can't drive the limit until you know the mid-engine and turbo power dynamics well. There's no room for error, because the gears are short, the wheelbase is short and it lives to rotate. It's also batshit crazy from factory on suspension setup. Toss in manual steering, and it means business to run 10/10ths.
But yeah, for sake of this thread, General Tires fly under a lot of radar. In the off-road community, they are king. But they make performance tires that address real cars and real drivers. I think of them as 90% Conti, but they hedge and give a better temp range and bit more longevity at incredible prices, and they run lots of rebate specials. Seems to be the Conti-General business model.
