Hey Guys,

How involved is it to install this without taking the turbo off? Would like to order today so I can get it Saturday and install this weekend if the install doesnt require the turbo to come off.

I have a Pumaspeed billet inlet. It was a bitch to install with the turbo mounted but it’s possible. Remove the upper/lower cowlings, of course.

Let's see how this thing does. I'm not really looking forward to trying to install it myself but I guess that's how you learn.

Very curious to see the gains though that's for sure. I almost really thought I should've done the Exhaust Manifold (Airtec from Whoosh) 1st to really see the gains. I'll think about it over the weekend.

If anyone has any input please chime in. I want to be sure this will be fine for getting the car Dynoed.

So with my current mods, would it be better to Dyno the car after the manifold and then another Dyno after the inlet or should it be the other way around?

I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on this Airtec Inlet too, but I see that next month it will also be included with the Whoosh Hybrid Kit which is awesome! I'm still on the fence about whether to go S280 or Whoosh Hybrid within the next year. I currently find myself very happy with the stock turbo tuned on E40, so anything more is cake!

George, when you go to install the Airtec Inlet, let me know and if I'm free, I'll drive down to Tempe and give you a hand!

I'd definitely be interested considering the price is reasonable and depending on when! I've got some parts to install before it goes on the Dyno!

I'll post some photos here when I get the kit it and let you know. I'm thinking maybe next weekend. I'm flexible though. You could bring the car and parts down here and I can help with whatever I can as well.

To measure improvements you need to base line your combo, then add the improved parts one at a time dynoing in between to see what that one part did. It's the only way to know what does what.

Yeah I agree. That’s what I’ve done so far and will keep doing. The thing is where would I be able to isolate the gains for the inlet.

Right now the intake is upgraded which in theory should provide the turbo the volume it needs with no issue.

Being that it has the stock manifold I would think that the other bottleneck is that. If so then upgrading the manifold would then eliminate a bottleneck.

So if I placed the new inlet on after the manifold and Dynoed them both. I should get the true gains of the inlet.

Could you please measure the internal diameter on the small side when you get a chance? Is it 48mm? I'm gonna order one in the not so distant future

I would do the manifold first, dyno it see what it does. Then install the intake pipe, then dyno again. If you install both then dyno you will not know which part helped or hurt you.

I'm not expecting any gains from the manifold or the inlet, to be honest but I'm following for results.

The stock turbo housing is the restriction, not the parts leading to it.
