Broken Whoosh Motorsports RMM

So a few days ago about I was experiencing a lot of nvh and a massive clunk from low rpms when accelerating in any gear. I just got it back from the dealership (car is still under warranty) and they told me my aftermarket (Whoosh street rmm) was the culprit. I was extremely surprised to say the least. I've bought whoosh motorsports parts in the past and I have always been satisfied until now. The car was purchased new and has just hit 8k miles with only 5k miles on the whoosh rmm. It was torqued to spec and re-checked 2 months ago. Never tracked or really pushed the car super hard either. However, as you can see from the photos…the rmm is toast. Got stuck paying the dealership labor cost to reinstall the factory motor mount. As you could guess, the car feels so much better now even with the stock mount. Just wanted to update anyone who saw my previous post and for any owners/future buyers who have or want a rmm to be aware of this potential issue. I'm not sure if anyone else has had an issue with Whoosh's street rmm but I would be weary. I definitely expect this part to last way longer than it did, especially with how many miles are on the car. Like I said before, I've bought products from Ron before and it's been great, but this one has not. Here’s the video of the sound it made while the rmm was installed https://streamable.com/06uvmm and photos of the rmm taken off the car.

I'm planning on contacting him. I just wanted to make this post to let others know who have a rear motor mount to watch out for the polyurethan deterioration that can occur. I feel like it happened very prematurely and it's something to keep an eye out for. Also wanted to see if anyone has had their rmm fail like this. I still support Ron and the products he offers.

I have the exact RMM color and everything
. Just curious, do you live up North where they salt the roads? Maybe that could affect it. I live in South Texas, so no issue with salt.

That is actually how polyurethane bushings fail. Unlike rubber which compresses and gets hard over time, PU bushings can crack and split and fracture. It's quite common. Just do a Google search for "polyurethane bushing failure" and read about failures with new bushings, on street cars, causing race car crashes, and more. It can be hastened by using the wrong kind of grease, cleaners that contain aromatic solvents, heat, and other things.

I'm slightly disappointed. When I opened this thread I thought the metal part broke and wanted to know what OP did to accomplish that! This seems like a non-thread, just email Ron and he'll do what he can. Part failures occur, it's a statistical certainty.

This whining culture is getting old
It's almost a necessity at this point, unfortunately. A lot of companies won't lift a finger to help you regardless of how "in the right" you are, until you shame them online. That being said, I've found Ron to be an exceptional vendor - I'm not kissing ass, I've had my own occasional frustration, but talking it out resolved the issue. I've paid a lot more for much worse customer service than I got through whoosh. OP might have prior experience with other companies that whining online was the only way to get things done, but honestly this thread demonstrates Ron's positive reaction to the problem. I hope the OP takes the time to update their original post with "contacted Ron @ whoosh and the situation was resolved to my satisfaction" or some such. There's no way to provide a 100% "nothing will ever fail" promise, unfortunately.

Remember folks, a big part of good customer service is being a good customer.

How fast do $100 sneakers wear out? Ever try to get Nike to replace 'em? (Dude my waffle tread is flaaaat)
Nike actually has an amazing product guarantee. If within 2 years of the product manufacture date (printed on the size label inside the shoe) they will warranty any defects. This includes rips tears etc. it’s also liberally applied so if you file a claim they will approve it unless there is outright fraud. What’s nice is you don’t have to have your receipt, they will give you the full retail price of the shoe on a Nike gift card. If you have your receipt they will give you cash within 60 days. I know this wasn’t your point but I just had to speak up for Nike here as they have an awesome product guarantee.

And Ford balks at covering warranty on a $25k purchase. What in the hell is wrong with this picture. Oh. Where are Nike's made? Bend? Portland? Eugene? Yeah, that's called profit margin. You bet they can do all types of things on a dollar a day in wages....awesome.

They can afford to, materials costs are negligible and the children making them are dirt cheap labor, so the profit margin is crazy high.

Production costs of nikes on most shoe models is very low. To maintain market dominance they spend a lot, but you’re right, actual product costs are low.

I can't say I'm following all this talk about Nike's but Ron's response is perfect from a vendor. You can't ask for more than that and is another example of why I buy from Whoosh whenever possible.

Other than that parts fail, especially when you start modding. There's nothing wrong with the OP sharing the experience and photos. It even prompted me to inspect my Mountune RMM because the clunking noise when shifting in my car has seemingly gotten louder lately. Unfortunately it isn't the RMM
