All in good time, buddy. I still want you to start a “build” thread. 😉 Sometimes I wish I had smaller brakes so I could run 16s. Too bad Ron’s kit wasn’t available back then. His brake kit looks very capable and the price is unbeatable. I might’ve even tried the Goldcoast kit since I have the LSD. I have the Goldcoast rear RS setup and it bolted up without issues. Nice stuff!

The time it took to install all of it was insane because I had to make spacers, adapters and brackets. If you decide to do a steering wheel let me know. I might be able to help you save time, especially if you want to keep the steering wheel controls. It’s super easy if the controls don’t matter to you.

…I’ll say the seat/bar/harness/wheel setup in my car was really expensive. I even bought the seat used from a buddy, got a discount on the harness and had the bar painted locally. The time it took to install all of it was insane because I had to make spacers, adapters and brackets. If you decide to do a steering wheel let me know. I might be able to help you save time, especially if you want to keep the steering wheel controls. It’s super easy if the controls don’t matter to you.

I never use (nor have I ever used) the steering wheel controls.

Even on 9 hour, mostly highway drives I don't use the cruise control (if I could have opted to delete it when ordering this car, I would have ), and I have no need/desire to switch tune slots 'on the fly' once I get a tune.

But I want to do the seats and wheel at the same time, since the interior seems 'incongruent' at best with the other being factory (especially with the base seats).

The same goes for me with the Coolerworx shifter (as much as I really like this item) with an otherwise full factory interior (even one with the Recaros).

If I decide to go multiple piston/fixed caliper, Ron's 285mm 15" wheel version may be my only option, given that the front only AP Racing 15" wheel compatible gravel setup I want is ~$2500 now new, and the 15" wheel useable Wilwood gravel setup is at least $1500.

I need to be able to use 15" wheels due to working those gravel rallies, as a 16" tire with enough sidewall (a 50, or even a 55 series profile just ain't gonna cut it! ) to get down the stage roads without blowing out on impacts, and/or cracking the 16" wheel just will not fit under these cars.

Maybe if I made a decided/committed conscious effort to start using them, and it became 'muscle memory', I might.
But this is the first car I've ever owned with that feature, and because of that, it just is not a 'natural' thing for me to use from experience.

Your car looks great and I love the aero. Any idea if the shop that made them would be willing to duplicate it? My FiST is also being built strictly for track duty and your setup looks very well executed.

I ordered the last set of Falken 235/40/17 RT615K+ tires in the US today. Maybe I’ll get lucky with fitment too since they run narrow.

If anyone has a lapping tire recommendation I’d love to hear about it. I want something that’ll run fast pace for at least 30min. The RT615K+ is great at it but they’re too narrow in 215/40/17 and lack lateral grip. The RT660 is useless after a few laps. I was thinking I’d try Z3s or R888s next. I’m definitely looking forward to the new Continental 200TW endurance tire.

Hankook RS4’s? RonMCdon likes the Z3’s for track use you give up a little in lap times but make up longevity.

RS4s are excellent at lapping forever, but aren't the fastest. They're better for lap counts than lap times. I loved them on my 15" wheels for the Fiesta and I'm on my second set on my current track rat Miata. I kept each set on for over a year, but they're definitely not fresh after 12 months (still set P.B.s but mostly because I'm not fast). Unfortunately Hankook's 17" size options for you are a 225/45R17 or a 245/40R17. I'm not sure if either will fit under your fenders.

I ran R888s on 16" wheels before I went to 15s, and they were also great at lapping consistently after a little bit more warm-up. I kept feathering the tread on mine, so they got loud on the street, but my solution was to just swap wheels at events. You'd probably be happy with them, but I don't know their relative price off the top of my head.

I want to try the Nankang AR-1s or Nitto NT01s on the Miata, but the Conti's also look great since they partnered with Hoosier. But I'm expecting the Contis to be expensive.

Are they specifically developing/marketing these towards the enduro road race crowd which are rule limited to 200 tread wear donuts?
(Like the 24 Hours of Lemons, etc.)

NT01’s do sounding interesting. Jury is out on the Conti’s I have never been a Conti fan ever since having a set on my 4 door 510 in high school and absolutely hating them.,
I guess it helps that Hoosier is in on them.

Yeah, it certainly sounds like it.

Oh, yeah Woods, these Contis will be in the right size for you on 7"/8" wheels: a 225/40R17 should be available now for $240 per tire.

The Contis supplied to all of the IMSA Grand AM competitors (back when they were a sponsor/supplier) were just re-branded, re-labeled Hoosiers as well, correct?
