Any feedback on how the mount feels? Did you do anything to the driver's side mount? Was thinking I might do a damond passenger mount with a powerflex insert on the driver side. Emailed damond and asked if they planned to make a drivers side. I'll post here if and when I get a response.
Damond did get back to me today about the transmission/drivers side mount. They are working on one and expect it later this summer. Would make sense as the other vehicles they support have all three mounts available.

edit* They will also be offering a softer bushing for these mounts in the "very near future" and they can be swapped out if you already have one of the original bushings. Thinking I may grab a set of these as they become available.

Thought about this for a bit I kinda see where they are going with this. They are addressing the Torque axis side to side big time mounting it this way. Think about your RMM why is it there to absorb the TQ axis any engine mounted sideways exhibits. . So while we have mounts that do absorb the TQ axis some by being mounted front to back because the engine is mounted longitude vs latitude . A engine placed front to back with mounts on either side will have a lot more TQ axis absorbed by the mounts even vertically as they are usually placed vertically at angle to the engine for max absorbation.

Hence why we have a RMM to take up some of the slack of the woefully inadequate engine mounts. Now on low HP FWD engines its not a big deal but on High HP it is . So Damond motorsports said lets place a larger mount horizontal rather than vertical to absorb that side to side TQ that the RMM has to handle as well. It can contain more urethane to absorb more and handle the TQ better than a vertical mount. Not to say a stiff vertical mount can work but usually causes some NVH while the Damond motorsports design at least by looking at it would aborb more NVH than the vertical design would.
Think about it. I bet it helps with Torque steer a lot.
that's one heck of a reply
I'm still inclined to OEM+ the stock enginered designs with Vibra Technics or at a minimum ARP bolt on the PSMM
If you change the OEM design of how the mount pivots that will certainly cause more force upon the RMM which already is kind of weak in design
Especially the front mounting point on the aluminum transaxle case

I understand how you could feel that way. I think they designed the concept to work in conjunction. So do not just sell a side mount sell the RMM together. I mean lets face all of the stock mounts are highly inferior even with just the stock engine. They are a low HP design. Of course My MKI and II Fiesta’s went through engine mounts like butter back in the day when I was doing delivery for Waiters on Wheels in San Francisco.

Super early thoughts. I litterally have like 30 miles on this mount and I'm sure it not broken in yet. Once the car is warm it MUCH quiter than the race(black) Powerflex insert. Cruising is tolerable, it seems to be breaking in quickly. Acceleration, you definitely can feel and hear it's installed. Not horrible, but I'm hoping once it breaks/wears in it will be better. NVH is also different from the Powerflex insert. The Powerflex was like big waves, were the Damond is like smaller and quicker, hope that makes sense. I'm also probably a much older guy than most of you, so my desciptions might be much different than your interpretation.

alright going to order the damon pmm w/ softer bushing. will try to get installed later this month or early next month.

I really like the idea they are coming out with the other engine mount (cpe is the only other company that does this) supposedly around Aug and will opt for that when it comes out. Note I have no issue at all with Vibra Technics PMM, works just fine.

I don't know, maybe Ron or others can answer that. I do like that it's made in Great Britain.

I actually might bite the bullet and beat you too it. As I am tired of my Powerflex passenger side that always needs ziptie maintenance .. They even said they would send me a new donut ring for it but have not. lol
I am so over them as a company.

Oh yeah would have jumped on the driver's side mount if Vibra-Technics made one. Love doing whatever I can to improve the car's steering.

All right what should I put on my Christmas list Vibra-Technics, or Damond passenger side mount?

I think thats up to you . Most likely either one will do the job. Almost all the uprated passenger side mounts seem to work well. Outside of the Powerflex inserts which of course work then don’t lol.

That said I am running a Damond Motorsports passenger side mount and it seems to work well. It had a bit of initial NVH but its all but gone at this point. Its been about 2k miles since install.

They both seem good, but I know the Damond is engineered a bit different.

I was seriously considering a Vibra Technics prior to Damond bringing out theirs My friend bought one and had a fair amount of NVH to start which made me a bit worried. When Damond came out with theirs. I saw the design and understood the concept behind the engineering of it and agreed so I figured I would try it.
I will say its heavier than the Vibra Technics . If one is really concerned about weight the Vibra Technics is a weight saving design as its most likely lighter than the stock mount.

I'll probably be grabbing a damond. They told me they were coming out with a drivers side mount shortly after releasing the option for softer bushing material but nothing yet.
