Alrighty... So here we go, in case anyone wonders if Milltek Sport resonated catback exhaust may drone for them - yes it may. YMMV depending on how sensitive your ears are, but it does for me. It's doesn't hit you like a hammer, but if I keep it just over that notorious 3k RPM, my ears start feeling noticeable pressure. Came home from driving the car for an hour or so and ears are definitely feeling it. I am using poly hangers, so maybe switching to stock rubber ones will help... otherwise I think it's back to stock for me. Real shame, because the volume was pretty much perfect.

EDIT: Measured sound at 3k, you can see the 100Hz peak

Following the advice of a few folks here, I replaced the two front-most (near downpipe) whoosh insulators back to stock ones (fyi blue one now apparently comes in brown colour) and I can confirm that it makes a lot of difference. Cabin noise level / drone / vibrations went down significantly. There's still boom at 3k but I feel like it doesn't bother my ears as much anymore and so I think the car is now daily drivable again.

Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering a Tsudo exhaust on a budget. Everyone seems to say that it doesn’t drone much so I purchased one. This exhaust does nothing but drone and horribly. I get a headache if I drive for over 10 minutes at a time. Can’t hear any induction or outside exhaust noise. The cabin is brutally boomy and I’ll be returning to stock ASAP. It genuinely ruined the driving experience and it pisses me off that something this bad could be produced. It’s just as bad if not worse than a straight piped Fiesta I’ve driven. Going to put the silencer in and hope it is half as terrible. Waste of hard earned money

That said,im debating purchasing a 3" dna catback (has resonator but no muffler) and adding an HKS Super Drager cannister i have collecting dust. It's either gonna be awesome or terrible.

I ended up replacing the remaining rear-most poly hangers with stock ones and I am now a firm believer that Ford used what they used for a good reason. Maybe it's because the car body is so rigid that it turns into a big speaker otherwise, especially with larger-than-stock diameter. I can definitely recommend anyone with exhaust drone issues to try stock hangers first. Exhaust shop I used addressed the issue where exhaust would swing side to side by welding on an extra hanger and using the bolt that holds the handbrake cable (I think?) as the other mount point, through a rubber insulator (and I guess Thermal one shouldn't be suffering from that because they already have a fixed mounting point on the crossbar).

When installing a catback, are the bolts holding the original exhaust to the downpipe pressed in or can you simply push the out once they're unscrewed?

Best of luck! The silencer helps a lot and I’m going to run some v dynos with and without it to see how much power it may be robbing

Thanks for your take on this exhaust, super helpful! I've been looking to replace my CPE with something much quieter and the Milltek resonated is at the top of my list.

I decided to pull the trigger in the 3" DNA catback from Amazon for $218 shipped.

I might toss it on this weekend or even Next Monday.

The piping and welds look pretty decent. I wonder how loud or drone-prone it will be with only a large resonator up front and no muffler. I'll record a vid later.

FSwerks is pretty low-key. Thermal is more aggressive in every respect, especially at WOT
that is why i am looking at it more, the fswerks
being a daily driver, looking for a bit more noise than stock but not loud or very aggresive in any aspect, plus staying away from cops aggro range noise levels
if i was younger i would grab thermal in a heartbeat but with age, one dont really care for being loud

Thermal is nice do not let what he says scare you away Thermal is not that loud lol. I am not a young un anymore either and I have the Thermal. It gives the car a nice low throaty sound that at idle is pretty quite on a stock turbo. On a upgraded turbo and downpipe its more of growl but its not obnoxious and its nothing juvenile . It can be aggressive if your on it aggressive aka higher rpms a lot but otherwise it just sounds like the car should sound rather than the overly dead quite of stock that made them half to put in sound symposer to compensate. :ROFLMAO:
