Engine and Trans mount advice

Hey everyone,

Recently changed a lot of things on my car and I love almost all of the changes with the exception of the engine and trans mount. After some research, regrettably not enough I feel I purchased the Turbo Tech engine and trans mounts. I have given these mounts about 1500 miles so far to settle down and they definitely have, however the NVH is still way too much for a daily and probably anything but a dedicated track car on this platform. They feel great combined with the Whoosh RMM I have but I'm afraid I need to look at alternatives.

So at the moment while I'm tempted to just throw the stock mounts back in with the upgraded bolt and call it a day but I'm wondering if anyone has and recommendations on other mounts that provide the similar rigidity but don't make me want to rip my ears off every time I drive it.

Im running an older mountune rmm. A vibratechnics passenger side ( engine) mount with fast road compound. And the factory upper trans mount.

So far its been a great compromise between performance and comfort.

Which mounts? The Vibratechnics Fast road? Its hard to explain unless you actually road in a car with them. If you can deal with Hard urethane mounts these are a walk in the park. They can be felt but not too disturbing in vibration and I live in Mn where it gets below ZERO. That's when you really feel any mount vibrating they can be felt more but its not like " I cant stand it ...its over bearing I want them out"! I don't even bat an Eye.

my boy Booster got the passenger side mount. It vibrated some initially I think it selted in. I put the RMM in about 2 months ago and it needed to break in its the fast road version. Its pretty nice now.

My pass side mount is shot. I'm going with OEM, new trans mount as well, both with Powerflex street inserts. As usual, Tasca is taking FOREVER to deliver, but i'll report back once it's all in. For less than half the price of a single aftermarket mount' I'll have both done. I like that math. I may replace 50k old Cobb RMM with the Whoosh replica so that's it's all refreshed at the same time.

+1 to the Vibratechnics. I have both passenger and transmission mount and they do not raise vibrations much at all. (paired with a Mountune RMM)

Thanks everyone, looks like I’ll be placing an order for some vibratechnics mounts. They were what I originally was going to go with and for some reason I changed my mind at the last second. In hindsight I wish I hadn’t. The turbo tech mounts took my fiesta from being my most comfortable car to least comfortable real quickly. This is comparing it to my 06 STi with every bushing/mount on the car replaced with hard poly and a 65 mustang coupe with solid mounts and no interior...

Hmm I hadn’t considered the inserts, may be an alternative I consider before I order anything else, which aftermarket mounts did you try before? I bought the fiesta as a daily and it quickly became my go to car for autocross because it’s just too much fun to drive, hence the reason I changed the mounts in the first place.

I've actually HAD rod-ends/heim joints in the suspension (especially when used as front coil over mounts/attachment points) falsely set off the knock sensors in an LS1 Z28, such was their LOUD 'jackhammer' style knocking over even minor bumps/road imperfections.

But I guess a solid enough motor/transaxle mount could do the same.

Now THAT would be some serious knock. Lol. I think the Fiesta knock sensor is probably just a little more/too sensitive than that of an LS motor tho.

I've tried the torque solutions and cpe mounts. The TS mounts are what threw the false knocks tho. I would try the Powerflex inserts, if you dont like them, then change to something else. They are cheap enough to "try out" before investing into a mount you wont like.
I'm using what most would consider "soft" mounts (PF "street" inserts, and Mountune RMM). I've never had a problem with them even on the track either. Just another option for you, that's all.

my biggest issue with Powerflex is their damn passenger side mount with the stupid ring. I got mine in a package deal of parts unused. So we put it on and it had the earlier o ring that is known to fail and Powerflex will not sell one separately they will only give you an updated one if you can show proof of purchase. Its a dumb policy on their part that really hurts their business IMO. I.E. not customer service friendly . They could at least sell it separate as they know that some fail.
Anyways the next thing to do is ziptie it. Well ziptie‘s slip, break etc... as well. So I kind of feel the design while trying to be clever is kind of fail.
They really should reengineer it. I will probably wind up with a VibraTechnic‘s to replace it as well. Oh well Powerflex’s loss.

Hmmm....I bought mine second hand and hit them up for a free o-ring! Interesting....must have got them on a generous day!

most likely they got a lot of people that hit them up and decided to put a stop to it. The bean counters probably complained it was cost them money.

I never considered that the ring was (broken?missing?damaged). I was/am learning to live with silicone spray. I've also got to do something about my swaybar links - they're on order but USPS lost them 2 weeks ago!

Yeah, that dang o-ring is definitely a dick punch. I think I got and have stayed lucky with it

Why not just Size it up and get a Viton O-ring to replace that cheap POS ?
