I picked up a set of Pro Gravel Rally coilovers from Yellow Speed Racing. I've decided to go with a rally style build on the Fiesta ST.

https://yellowspeedracingusa.com/products/dynamic-pro-gravel-rally-coilovers-ford

Upon receiving and unboxing them, I'm impressed with the build quality and beefiness. Each front strut feels like it weighs in around 25 lbs.

I'll be installing these later this week. I'll add more once I have had time to daily drive with them for a while.

I really like these, and they are still in the running (along with the Panda modded Silver Neomax, and B6es with spacers) for my suspension choice.

The only thing I don't like about them is the 'all in one' combined rebound and damping adjustment (I would have preferred ONLY rebound, like the Koni Sports if they could not do a separate adjustment).

They DO offer a 2 way and 3 way, totally separate rebound/damping adjustment, remote reservoir setup, but that is getting into (possibly even above?) the used/rebuilt Reiger coil over price range already. [:(]

Some pics from the install. No major issues but I did have to adjust the fronts to the lowest height setting to get them installed initially. I also removed my Eibach rear sway bar because the bolt heads interfered with the rear shock mount because it's larger diameter than the MeisterR.

I'm almost at the lowest height setting and I've got about 2.5" of wheel gap right now. I was hoping for around 2" but it might settle a bit over time. I still need to find a good damper setting but I'm starting with the standard settings for now.

Did you get the very LAST set of white Superturismo GTs/WRCs in the country?!
(What tires are on them?)

The R5 wing (is that the actual one Ron had up for sale?) and R5 style turndown are really cool, but Mk7 Fiesta rally cars do not use side skirts/splitters, nor that type of front splitter, as they use those flexible air dam style things in the front.

Is that about as low as those Yellows could possibly be set and still function properly?
You stated "almost at the lowest height setting", but, is there even a 1/4" of lowering left in the adjustment?

I ordered the wheels from driftshop.com. I'm running Blizzak snow tires. I'm planning to buy another set of 17s for summer, maybe another set of the WRCs but I'm considering other options. I already have some new Michelin 4S tires on hand for summer.

Indeed this is the R5 wing Ron had for sale. This won't be a true R2 or R5 build, but it has definitely inspired the choices I'm making with the car right now. Just trying a new direction, mainly just for fun. I don't plan to compete but I have been looking at some local Rallycross events so who knows! Also, we have ice racing here on the lakes so that could be fun too! http://www.iceracemn.com/

A couple more items planned for the build is an AP Racing BBK and SS-Tuning fender flares.

There's about 5/8" of lowering left in the front struts but I could not get the rears to go any lower. I wanted the car to sit as evenly and level as possible so I did bring the fronts up to match the rears.

The AP Racing kits are sweet, but $$$$$$$$$$$. [:(]

One thing though, unless you get their gravel kit, which fits under most 15" diameter wheels, you will be stuck with 17s (and possibly not even all of them, even with spacers), and the larger tarmac kits will only fit under 18s, as that's the size wheel they use for the R5 and WRC cars on pavement.

The R2 tarmac setup would fit as they use 16s on paved roads, but I believe they are using Alcon currently, not AP Racing. [dunno]

Very good points. I am getting a secondhand 315mm AP Racing BBK from a seller on the forum, originally from Reyland Motorsports.

From my research the teams run a 300mm kit for gravel and a 355mm kit for asphalt.

I don't mind being stuck with 17s since my long term plan is to make the car a track only vehicle so I want to run the biggest brakes possible with a 17" wheel.

Can you measure the center of hub to the bottom of fender (center) for the front and rear? Curious how tall these are compared to my spacer setup with the B6's.

Here are my measurements:
Front: 14.125"
Rear: 14.25"

Stock:
F/R: 13.4"

Not a problem. Here's the measurements from center of the hub (actually the center of the wheel cap) to the bottom of the fender.

RF: 14 1/8"
RR: 14 1/16"
LR: 14 1/8"
LF: 14 1/8"

Keep in mind the coilovers are at the low end of the height adjustment. The fronts are about 1/2" above the lowest height adjustment. The left rear is about 1/4" up from bottom and the right rear is at the lowest height setting.

Thanks! [twothumb]

I may have to keep trying to get Panda to build me something from their gravel rally coil over setup which is able to be lowered a bit more than this, at least at it's lowest capable setting.

Because when I contacted Yellow Speed tech, they told me that I would have to give up the inverted dampers in the front if I opted for ANY shorter spring than the standard ones you got with this kit, and they would have to just put taller springs on one of their regular old, not inverted, 'slammer' street coil over setups in order to achieve my goals. [:(]

Let us know if you get them built, always nice to see more suspension options out there.

Those are 205/40-17s, correct?

I'm trying to get a sense of where a (~ 0.7" or so, aka a 205/50-16 or a 225/45-16) taller setup than factory diameter would sit. [wink]
That is correct

I use a variety of online offset calculators to get an idea about different wheel offsets and tire sizes compared to stock.

Here are a couple you can try out that might help.

I need a second Fiesta so bad so I can build an urban pothole crusher like this. I love it.
I like this idea a lot. It reminds of back in the day when we all had lowered two door 510’s and my friend took a 4 door he got cheap and raised put swaybars front and rear on it with pillowball end links and suspension arms. . We called the car beater and took it off road constantly . Of course yes back in those days 510’s were raced and competitive in Pro Rally as well as being Championship winning track cars.
Damn I should have bought one of those Octane Academy cars when they notified me. :ROFLMAO:
Maybe I will pick up a Salvage title vehicle for this. :ROFLMAO:

I'm curious to see how your experience with SS Tuning goes - I couldn't get an order placed through them even though I called multiple times, placed an order online and even sent payment. Payment was returned not deposited and I moved on... frustrating for sure.
