I got a low tire light today which reminded me I need new tires.

You mean the slipping and sliding when accelerating and cornering didn't tell you? lol

Not even galvanized steel, and not even any primer from the looks of it. I wonder if my tbperformance bar will be like that after 1 year. I hope not. It's still salvageable though; you could grind it down with a grinder 80-120 grit disc, then wire wheel off all the rust pits remaining, spray a rust conversion coating on it and let it sit time depending on the manufacturer of coating, and then scuff up the coating with a red scotch brite, then refinish. I'd spray it with a self etch primer, or a zinc phosphate primer, then a rubberized undercoating such as this one: https://www.dominionsureseal.com/product/gravel-guard-1-oem-approved-rocker-panel-coating-svg124/

All that work? Just pay to have it blasted and coated....imho

They grip just fine, where just a little worn on the inside.

Firestone epic sale. Four Indy 500's were $280. Much cheaper than tire rack. I'll get a week or two's use before temps stay low.

Had to add road hazard to get to $505 before the 100 off.

(I installed new HUF pre-programmed tpms sensors on the SVT wheels that finally got powder coated correctly) Pics later if the rain stops and there's enough light out.

Plus $40 off their $200 lifetime alignment w/rotation.

While I dislike chain shops, Gotta do what I got do... example of why I hate chains: 9am appt, actual work on lift started at 10:21.

205-50-16 are $95 here. 205-45 are 90. $100 off a set of four, but total bill has to be 500 after tax. That's why I added the road hazard.

The lifetime alignment is always on sale for 180, but getting it for 160 was even better. My Mazda has a 5 yr alignment with NTB/Tire Kingdom. That is about 200.

Over the past couple days I installed Centric rotors, OEM pads, bled the fluid, rotated my tires and cleaned her up in preparation for Autocross today. Got 1st in tire class and realized how big our cars are compared to 90's cars. Car is an Autozam AZ-1 for those that don't know, super rad. I really need to pull the trigger on some tires soon. I'm at 3/32nds on my RS-Pro's

haha you say that ("realized how big our cars are compared to 90s cars") and i think of a post from E34less on page 499 of this thread where he is parked between a truck and a red BMW and it makes our car look so so small

Hit a pothole so fucking hard I think I broke at least one TPMS. Lost a fair bit of air in both driver side tires.

So new tires coming Monday but time to do musical chairs: 205/40/17 ws80 blizzaks (3-4 seasons old) on stock wheels being removed and tossed. Stock wheels go back in the closet. Summer set up with RPF-1s go on and the 205/50/16 Indy 500s get swapped with same size Firestone Winterforce 2s.

It'll just keep happening until I break a wheel or blow a tire out with the low profile tires. Love the gearing, love the razor-like response but nah, man, I need that sidewall.

I already blew out a factory 205/40-17 Pilot Sport AS/3 sidewall on a crater around here last early spring.

So I made a set of bronze Dekagrams my daily driver wheels, with 'all season' Nitto Neo Gens on them (205/50-16).

They rub bad enough (maybe because they are one of the widest tread AND section width 205/50s?? ), even at factory ride height, that I am considering 205/45-16s next, when these wear out (unless someone releases a good, name brand, [ultra] high performance all season 215/45-16 besides the Vredestein Quatrac 5).

Nankang NS-25 in 215/40/17. So far im happy with them. They seem plenty grippy, but havent run them in the twisties yet.

Looks very good. How much of a warranty do the rotors have? I'm surprised you didn't also paint the calipers as well.

I installed the awr passenger mount in 88a durometer a few days ago. Initial impressions, is it is loud! Sounds like open Downpipe in the cabin. However, it does seem to be breaking in and it has mellowed a bit. Shifting is smoother, throttle response is quicker, and my start up squeel that sounded like a slipping belt is eliminated with this new mount. I hope it breaks in more though; I was not expecting this deafening transition from powerflex race insert to the awr mount.
