I believe that the engines and gearbox/transaxles are assembled in England.
I am not sure if the actual block/head castings are made there or not, nor of the country of origin for all of the various internal parts.

BTW; two of the residents on my floor in the dorm way back when I attended the UofA (Tucson) were from Prescott (one had an original blue '69 Boss 302 with real Minilites on it at the time!).

I thought it was a Belgian powertrain and the car was assembled in cologue germany? (Euro STs)

The Asian/North American line is in Mexico however I think the powertains are shipped from the same aforementioned Belgian site.

No the engine came from England for all years. The Car was designed by Ford of Germany originally.

According to wikipedia the 1.6 ecoboost is built in the UK
Other sizes are built all over.
Ya but we are talking about the FiST engine here which is the 1.6 ecoboost which I already stated was made in the UK.

Oh and P.S. Wikipedia while nice for a quick reference is not exactly the most accurate information either.

I don't know how accurate this is, but I read that the UK plant in where our engines were built was closed by Ford.

The following is dated September 25, 2020, though as I stated above, I have no idea about its accuracy.

Of course our cars are no longer being made. The MK8 has a whole new engine based off a previous 3 cylinder design that was already being built somewhere else.
Our engines 1.6 Ecoboost’s were all built in that factory in Wales note that it closed in Sep of this year. Note that our cars here in the U.S, ceased being built in June July of 2019. Hmmm It all makes sense . No longer using the engine factory is old close down assembly line.

So going right back to the OP’s original question . No our engines were never made in Mexico, yes they were made in the UK and now they are no longer being manufactured.

end thread.....:ROFLMAO:

You might confuse them, this is the factory for assembling the cars. You showed them the plant for building our engines but did not say this is the plant where our engines were built.

You're right. I edited the posts to be more clear.

In case you want to nerd out on some manufacturing videos. Here are some curated ones from YouTube. I think it's kind of cool to see how they come together.

This one is longer in what appears to be the Thailand factory based on youtube comments.
