For the price fswerks. I have installed three of their exhaust systems. 2005 Ford Focus, 2010 Ford Focus, and 2017 Ford Fiesta ST.

For the $500 price range it is great.

Most people will say the thermal exhaust system but it's significantly more expensive.

Looking for first mod to be exhaust around 500$ Cobb looks good but is pricey. FSwerks? MBRP exhaust?
What do you think?
Welcome! Ha, this question is almost like politics or religion at a bar. I would say that your build goals will really determine your mod direction. For performance gains, you might go to an AP3 and tune first (Ford's tune is conservative so this is easy to unleash power and economy). For quality-of-drive, you might go to RMM and stiffer engine mounts first. For looks, you might go tint and wheels. The cool thing about the FiST is that you have so many mod options available at reasonable prices. I went with an AP3 and tune first, but only because I hated Ford's RPM hold/shift assist. Either way, there are tons of cool exhausts if you want to go that route but it is normally just for your driving pleasure. The consensus is that the OEM exhaust system (including the catalytic converter) is not restrictive until you pass the 300whp range.

This thread has a survey that you can check out the most common exhaust purchases.

It's the access port. Awesome little gadget that COBB sells that plugs into the OBD2 port and talks with your car's ECU. COBB sells the AP3 Access Port V3, but almost every tuner in the world has their own tunes. Dizzy, Mountune, Stratified, there are major threads on that as well.

Most tuners will sell you the AP3 and their tune as a combo, definitely worth looking into if you're looking for performance.

Welcome.

If you hate drone then the Thermal is the best. If you want sound for cheap get a Flowmaster or maybe FSwerks. Do not get MBRP lol

Though the best mod to start things off is a Cobb Accessport with a Tune. There are quite a few tuners that make tunes.
RMM we be second. Almost everything else outside of a crossover pipe will not see significant gains. Of course most people do intakes too.

My THREE cents: skip the intake and exhaust. for now....... Get the RMM, Cobb AP, tune, IC and short shift adapter. AFTER you have driven with this setup for one month, decide where you want to throw the rest of your money.......or not throw it. Resonator delete is cheaper than full exhaust and gives you some sound.

I did lightweight 16x8, FMIC, E30, rmm, mount inserts, short shift, solid bushings all before exhaust - that said, having an exhaust completely changes the character of the car, performance or not, the raucous Flowmaster note makes the car SO much more fun.

We get the point. We understand how you feel. Some people like myself want to add character. I hate factory exhaust systems so that's the first thing that I did. I wanted the st200 airbox so that's the next thing I did.

My first mods were not about performance they were about doing what I wanted.
He wants an exhaust that's what he asked.

Yep I agree the exhaust adds character and that is why it was the first thing that I did.

Ya I put my exhaust on before anything else, followed by the ST200 Airbox and the Tune almost immediately. Though the car was far too quite stock. LOL

The cool thing about the FiST is that you have so many mod options available at reasonable prices.
The Rub is that there are so many options available that "it's only another 500 bucks" is pretty much endless. There are times when I think my FiST is an even larger hole to pour money into than my boat was. Then I get in, start the motor, and it all seems worth it. There is a Fiesta/RS Franken car in the area and word is the owner likes to pick on Hellcats. If I had 500 hp and 4 wheel drive in a 2850 lbs. Fiesta look alike I might do the same. That's one thing about the Metro Detroit area, if you have the bucks you can build, or get built some really stunning sleepers.

BTW, I have the Cobb 2 1/2 inch exhaust. After 30 years of driving used beaters as daily drivers I have had it up to here with buying a new exhaust every 2 or 3 years. So I went with an exhaust that will last 50 years. Gotta love 304 Stainless, you could put it in hot brine for years and still have a shiny new exhaust. In addition to that I've replaced the intercooler, radiator, airbox, Rear Motor Mount, Wheels and Tires (16 inch). Next up will be an AP with the Mountune MR230 tune. Also looking at a Water/Meth system to clean up the valves. Way down the road it may be an MRX engine assembly with an S280 turbo package.

Hey diddnt know the AP3 was the Cobb device, sorry it’s like a SCT3 i knew that. But I guess what I’m trying to do in total for a while until the warranty is over is a decent exhaust (low drone), intake, short shift adapter, and spoiler lift, and what should I get intake wise? I like matching stuff but fswerks doesn’t make a CAI for my 19
